"Pocket" and "Paulie" came to DunRoamin' along with their sister Cotton on October 12, 2014 from Woodstock.  They had been found under a trailer when people were replacing skirting and they knew there was something wrong.  All three kittens were cold, malnourished and had fleas and earmites.  Sadly, little Cotton was unable to survive.  They all have a condition known as cerebellar hypoplasia, otherwise known as "wobble kittens."  Although perfectly healthy, they are unable to control their movements and appear to wobble more than walk.  Paulie and Pocket are very cute little kittens who look forward to a loving home.  Paulie, the little boy, has a more severe case of CH than his sister, Pocket, but both are doing very well.

On December 29, 2014, Paulie and Pocket were adopted by a lady in Riverbank who has previous experience with cats with Cerebellar Hypoplasia and they'll grow up with several other cats and dogs.  Congratulations, little ones.

"Ziva" and her sisters McGee and Mallard were dropped off on the doorstep of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic in the wee hours of the morning of August 18, 2014, long before staff arrived for work.  They were born about June 15, 2014 and had bad fleas and earmites.  They were otherwise healthy, so had belonged to someone as they are familiar with people.

They were scared, of course, and we're sure they were missing their mom, as they cuddled close to each other for comfort.  They were just scared little babies who had no clue as to what had happened to them.  Their medical needs were addressed and they quickly became fine, beautiful and healthy little kittens.

On December 29, 2014, Ziva was chosen to be part of the family of a young couple from Grand Falls and her friend Calamity (see below) got to go with her!  They'll now be new friends for Sadie, the family's only cat who is wishing for feline company.  Congratulations!

"Calamity" came to us on November 17, 2014 from the Newburg area where she was a homeless stray who was found on a porch.  She was born about November 15, 2013 and it appears she has not had the best of lives so far.  We hope to make her next eight lives better.  Calamity was dehydrated, had tapeworms and had porcupine quills embedded in her lips and mouth.  She had a previously-broken leg which had healed on it's own and she also had a problem with her right eye:  her upper eyelid was scarred on to the surface of the cornea of her eye.

The quills were removed from her face, she was given fluids and her tapeworms were treated.  She already feels better.  She underwent surgery to fix her eye and is doing very well - she thanks her vet immensely!  Calamity is a quiet little girl who was initially a bit skittish, but quickly relaxed with the care and compassion she is experiencing.  She now purrs, kneads and cuddles with the best of 'em - some might say even a bit better than most!!  She is like picking up a bundle of feathers - very light and delicate, and she cuddles in with all the love she can muster.  And that's a lot!

On December 29, 2014, Calamity met a very nice couple from Grand Falls.  Calamity wowed them with her cuteness and personality and she is now a permanent family member.  And to top it off, her friend Ziva (see above) went with her!  They will be new friends for their cat Sadie.  Congratulations, everyone!

"Martin" came to us on July 24, 2010, when a truck was seen dropping off a large number of cats (later determined to be 13) on the Plymouth Road near Woodstock.  Some kind people found them.  They were skinny, hungry, had bad eye infections, terrible fleas and ear mites so badly that their ear canals were fully closed off with flea dirt and they could not hear.  Several lost an eye due to the progression of the infection.

Volunteers brought Martin and his friends to DunRoamin' where their vet undertook much effort and many hours to make them well.  Martin was born about March 21, 2010 and he is a real sweetheart.  For almost two years he lived as a Cat For Seniors with a lovely senior lady in Woodstock and then returned to DunRoamin' to await another home.  Martin only has one eye as a result of the infection he had as a kitten, but he is 100% perfect!  He is calm, quiet, loving and affectionate.

On December 29, 2014, a young lady who had seen his photo on this website attended to ask if he'd like to join her family permanently.  He politely accepted her generous offer to live with Raynard and Ferrero, two other ex-DunRoamin' strays.  Now all three will live happily ever after!  Thanks for giving them all a wonderful home!

"Manfred" came to us on December 9, 2013 from the lumber yard in Bristol where he had been hanging out for more than a week.  It's cold out there now and he had no home.  He was born sometime around December 2011.  People wanted to take him in but their landlord threatened eviction as cats were not allowed.  Shelters are full and there was no other place available for him.

Manfred is a cute little guy who's happy to be warm and safe.  He's eating and sleeping in peace and comfort at last.  He is very energetic and loves to play with other cats.  He's full of it!!  He lived with 15 other cats with whom he got along very well.  He's a bit on the quiet side - or maybe the word is "laid back!"  He likes to explore and is always curious about the other side of that door!

On December 27, 2014, a lady whom Manfred had met previously returned to take him home with her.  He will be spoiled rotten in his new home in Newbridge!  Congratulations, Manny!  Merry Christmas!

"Cara" and her sisters Addy and Sansa came to DunRoamin' from the Richmond Corner area on July 3, 2014.  They were found near the Department of Transportation garage and there may have been another sibling but rescuers were unable to locate it.   They were only about seven weeks old, having been born around May 15, 2014.  All are girls.

Addy is a calico with lots of white.  She was very underweight, dehydrated, had fleas and a very serious case of upper respiratory infection.  Sansa is also a calico.  She was underweight, dehydrated, had fleas and moderate upper respiratory infection.

Cara is a tabby.  She had a good body condition but had fleas and a mild upper respiratory condition.  She was the healthiest of the three siblings but really needed help since they were all too young to be on their own.  Their mother could not be located.

On December 27, 2014, Cara met a young lady from Johnville who has wanted a kitty since the day she was born!  She and Cara will now be best friends and grow up together!  Merry Christmas!!

"Sienna" became a ward of DunRoamin' on November 22, 2014.  She had originally been live-trapped in Wapske, but she had bitten someone who had reached into her kennel and it was decided by a medical expert that she should be quarantined to ensure she did not have rabies or she would otherwise have to be put down.  She is a feral stray and is therefore very scared of people and will most likely always be too terrified to ever become a house pet.

Thanks to the generosity of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic (FVC), she was allowed to stay with them for her 10-day quarantine which proved she did not have rabies.  She was spayed, vaccinated and did her recovery from surgery with some friends of DunRoamin' in Brookville.  Thanks to FVC and Marcia and Colin for coming to her rescue.

On December 22, 2014, Sienna was transported to Windsor where she had been invited to come live on a farm where she will have plenty of warm buildings in which to live and lots of food provided by the owners.  She will soon be joined by five other cats whom these generous people have offered their barns for shelter.  They will live out their lives fed, sheltered and cared for.  Thank you, Ashley!

"Churchill" came to us on August 1, 2014 from the Perth-Andover area where he had been an outdoor cat who had come as a stray.  A gentleman was feeding him and had been trying to treat an injury on his tail but it was not getting better.  In addition, this man was moving from the area and there was no one left who was interested in caring for Churchill.

Churchill underwent surgery to remove all but about four inches of his tail as it was infected and much had fallen off.  He was also neutered.  He did very well - his tail is much better and the infection has been halted completely.  He lived with five other cats in Copper's Room until . . .

. . . December 9, 2014, when the couple who adopted Moe and Curly returned to take him home.  They had fallen for him, too, and just had to return all the way from Sussex to make him part of their family!  Merry Christmas, everyone!

"Angelina" and her sister JoLee came to DunRoamin' on October 14, 2014 from Woodstock where they had been found outside a shed.  No mother was present and no one was able to care for them.  They were born about September 23, 2014, making them only three weeks old.  They were unable to survive on their own.

Angelina and JoLee were checked by a vet who determined that they were healthy for their state.  They were fostered in Connell, eagerly awaiting the day when they can go to a new home.

On December 8, 2014, Angelina and JoLee were adopted by a lady in Plaster Rock where they'll be new friends for another ex-DunRoamin' stray, Antonia.  You'll have the best lives possible now!  Congratulations to all!

"Ezra" came to us on the afternoon of April 12, 2014 from the Florenceville area.  He was born about the middle of October, 2012 and is a very nice boy.  He had become blocked (was unable to pass urine) and was very ill since the liquid waste was unable to leave his body and was backing up into his system.

His family was unable to keep him so he was surrendered to DunRoamin' and treated for his urinary tract problems.  On May 13, 2014 Ezra underwent surgery that will allow him to pee properly without having the worry of getting blocked again.  He will also eat a diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food which will prevent any similar problems in the future.  He's grateful for the medical care, his foster home and the love he's received from all the DunRoamin' volunteers.

On December 8, 2014, Ezra met a lady from Holmesville who adopted Crispy and Crunch, two ex-DunRoamin' strays, about five years ago.  They also eat Urinary S/O food, so he'll fit right in perfectly.  He fell in love with his new mother immediately and is anxious to be with his new family.  Merry Christmas, Ezra!  Write soon!

"Flurry" came to us from the Perth-Andover area on December 2, 2013.  She was born around April 15, 2013 and was in pretty bad shape.  She had not eaten for several days, was emaciated and extremely dehydrated.

Flurry was treated at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for all her medical problems.  She got lots of food, lots of medical care, lots of attention and lots of love.   She's a little on the quiet side and just enjoys being on  someone's lap for a bit of cuddle time.  She particularly loved her buddy Burl who arrived at DunRoamin' the day before her with very similar needs.  Burl was very fortunate to get a loving home in Fredericton.

On June 3, 2014, Flurry underwent surgery to remove a bladder stone.  She has had some special blood testing that suggests she may have a condition called microvascular dysplasia.  She'll require a low-protein diet and yearly monitoring for new bladder stones, but she feels good, is active and playful and is anxious for a permanent home to call her own.

On December 8, 2014, Flurry got a Christmas present she will never forget.  It took a little over a full year, but she finally got a permanent home.  She was adopted by a couple in Woodstock whose daughter, Lucy, must eat a low-protein diet as well.  They'll be best friends and will grow up together.  Congratulations, Flurry, on finding the perfect home.  And congratulations to your family, for finding the perfect new member!  Merry Christmas!  Keep in touch!

"Castle" came to DunRoamin' on September 11, 2014 when she and her sister Beckett (see above) were seized by the NBSPCA in northern New Brunswick due to poor living conditions.  Castle was pregnant and had a heart murmur.  She and her sister both have vivid green eyes that glisten brightly when they stare affectionately at a human.

Castle is outgoing and loves her sister.  She received all necessary medical care and very quickly acclimatized to her new home.  She lived with six other cats in our Ruffus & Rusty Room until . . .

. . . December 4, 2014, when she was adopted on the birthday of a young gentleman from Oakland.  Castle is ecstatic to receive such a wonderful Christmas present.  Her life is changed forever - what more could anyone ask for than a loving family?? Merry Christmas, Castle!!!

On April 16, 2013, "Dazzler" came back to DunRoamin'.  She had been adopted in February but was returned to our care as she was not comfortable with very young children.  She's fine with older kids and adults, so she's hoping for a new home.  She originally came to us from the Hartland area where she and her siblings were found locked in a shed.

Dazzler was born about May 25, 2011.  She has beautiful eyes, one of which is blue, and a wonderful personality.  She's been waiting a long time for that perfect home and we hope she can have it soon.  She's okay here with her two- and four-legged friends, but it'd be SO nice to have her own home and family.

On December 4, 2014, Dazzler met a couple from Stickney who were very taken with her personality and beauty.  And as a bonus, her friend Adidas (see below) was adopted as part of the family also.  Congratulations!!  Merry Christmas!  It was a long time coming, but was it EVER worth the wait!!

"Adidas" came to us on August 31, 2011 from Woodstock where she and her five kittens had fleas so badly that they were anemic. They were also starving and cold.

Adidas was probably born about the end of July, 2010. One of the kittens, Fila, was unable to survive and passed away shortly after coming through the door. The others, three boys (Nike, Reebok and DC) and one girl (Puma) required intensive vet care. Sadly, Puma did not survive. The kittens were about four weeks old when they came to us.  All kittens found homes.  Their mother was still awaiting her turn after more than three years.  She was initially very scared and it took her quite some time to trust, but she has become very familiar with her home and the humans who care for her.  She has the softest fur of all our cats!

On December 4, 2014, Adidas met a gentleman who thought she was wonderful.  He has a huge home for her to explore when she's comfortable, and she has her friend, Dazzler, to keep her company along with her two new humans.  This is what it's all about, Adidas, a family of your very own!  What a wonderful Christmas present.  Wishes DO come true!

"Moe," "Curly" and their siblings Larri and Fritz were found on August 22, 2011 in Woodstock by the Town Police who were patrolling near JR's on Lower Main Street. They were full of fleas, ear mites and worms - obviously very uncomfortable. They had no mother to care for them, and it had been very damp and cold of late.

Moe, Curly and their family were fostered by a lady from Woodstock, where they learned to be social and show their gratitude daily. Moe and Curly eventually came back to DunRoamin' to find homes.  They were born about June 1, 2011 and would be happy to think that they might soon have a family to love them.   Moe is very close to his brother and they look much alike.  The easiest way to tell them apart is that Moe has yellow eyes and Curly has blue eyes.

On December 2, 2014, a couple travelled all the way from Sussex to meet Moe and Curly.  They fell in love immediately, so Moe and Curly now have the honour of their very own family in Sussex!  We are so happy for you! It's been a long wait, but it's worth it for such a great family.  We're looking forward to seeing family photos very soon!  Merry Christmas, Moe & Curly!

"Quill" came to us on October 30, 2014 from Woodstock.  He had been found in a yard and was in very bad shape.  He was thin, dehydrated, his face was embedded with numerous porcupine quills, the femur of his right hind leg was fractured, he had four pelvic fractures and a broken/dislocated tail.  He had no control over his bowels or bladder.  He was born about March 1, 2014.

His quills were removed and on November 2, 2014 his leg and tail were amputated due to the severity of the injuries.  He is recovering and doing well, thanks to the expertise of his vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He's a very lucky little boy to have been found and delivered to a place where necessary skills and compassion were available.  Thanks to his saviours and his vet for their efforts to ensure he'll have the life he deserves.  He's a really sweet boy who, even when in pain, will not offer a claw or bite to the hands he knows are trying to help him.  He is a very loving and affectionate little boy.  He loves people, cats and dogs as well.

On November 30, 2014, we were thrilled to learn that he will live with one of our very best supporters in Woodstock.  Renamed "Paulie Quinn," he will have two poodle friends and the best of love and care a cat could wish for from his new human.  Thanks, Judy.  We are SO grateful that you are now his.  He deserves the best.

"Pumpkin" and "Spice" came to us from Newburg on October 30, 2014.  They were born about September 15, 2014 and were found all alone with no mom.  They were much too young to survive on their own.

They were lean, but healthy.  They were timid but were eating up a storm to bring themselves to a healthy weight.  Pumpkin is a little orange boy and Spice is a little girl.  They'd like to go to a home together if at all possible.  They're a set!!

On November 30, 2014, Pumpkin and Spice were adopted together to a home in Kewick Ridge.  They are relieved that they will always be together and we are grateful to their new family who immediately fell head over heels in love with them both.  How could they not, when they gazed into their eyes and immediately began purring?  Please send lots of photos and updates as they grow!

"Dawson" came to us on November 22, 2012 from Coldstream where he had been a stray. People there noticed that his tail was injured and that he appeared to be in pain, so they brought him for help. Dawson was born about May 15, 2012.

He was examined by a vet who determined that the injury was so severe that his tail had to be amputated.  It may have been burned intentionally, and he was in much pain.

Dawson quickly healed with the right medical assistance. He was initially scared, but he felt much better now that he was warm, fed and pain-free. He and his friend Figaro are best friends and sleep and play together constantly.

On November 28, 2014, Dawson was adopted by a lady from Fosterville. She fell in love instantly and now Dawson has the home and family he's been waiting for for just over two years.  Congratulations, Dawson!  We'll all miss you, especially Figaro, so please send lots of photos and tell us about your new family.

"Sharapova" came to us on August 5, 2014 from Victoria Corner.  She and her four babies, Milos, Genie, Steffi and Raffi, had been put out of an apartment to fend for themselves when the occupant moved out.  Her four kittens had been found in a ditch but she could not be located.  The kittens were rescued and cared for by a concerned vet tech until the mom could be found.

Sharapova was born about July 31, 2013.  She was thin and obviously needed more nutrition to sustain her babies.  She was doing her best to provide shelter for them, but a ditch isn't very warm!  Sharapova was brought to join her babies whom she immediately started nursing.  The kittens were all subsequently adopted into loving homes.

On November 25, 2014, Sharapova met a young couple from Oakland and won over their hearts.  She will be a new friend for their small dog!  Congratulations, Sharapova!  Send us lots of photos!!

"Beckett" came to DunRoamin' on September 11, 2014 when she and her sister Castle were seized by the NBSPCA in northern New Brunswick due to poor living conditions.  She was pregnant and had a previously-broken leg which did not appear to have had medical care.  She and her sister both have beautifully-vivid green eyes - a very striking feature in a beautiful light-brown tabby.

Beckett was a slight bit shy, but was very comfortable if her sister Castle was with her.  They received all medical care necessary, as well as being spayed, vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV and treated for parasites.  Beckett very quickly grew into a loving and confident little girl.

On November 24, 2014, Beckett met a lady from Simonds and she fell in love.  She would not let the lady go without her, so she was chosen from more than 55 cats!  Congratulations, Beckett!  Have a wonderful life with your new family, including your new four-year old human friend!

"Horton" came to us from the Oakland area on September 17, 2014.  He had sustained a broken pelvis and hip and required surgery.   Other than having fleas, he was otherwise healthy.  He was born about April 15, 2014, so he's just a young little guy who deserves a chance at health and family.  He appears to be Siamese.

Horton underwent surgery on September 17 to place pins in his hip and then spent the next six weeks under strict kennel rest until the first week of November.  He has made a great recovery.  He is a very sweet little boy who loves people and even likes dogs!

On November 21, 2014, Horton met a young lady from Rothesay.  He immediately endeared himself to her with his wit, charm and cuddliness.  She didn't have a chance!  He had a great drive south to his new home and has claimed it as his very own.  Congratulations, Horton!  But we should call you by your new name now:  Oliver!!

"Raven" came to us on October 29, 2014 when he was found on the road in Riverbank.  He was born about September 25, 2014.  He had earmites and lacerations around his eyes, nose, lips, mouth, hind legs and feet from birds that were attacking him as he lay injured on the road.  He is an orange tabby.

Raven's wounds were closed, he was administered antibiotics and his hips were x-rayed to determine if he had additional injuries.  He's done very well, and . . .

. . . on November 8, 2014, he was adopted into a family in Newbridge where he'll live the life that was intended for him.  Raven would like to thank his rescuers - if not for them, this day would never have been for him.

"Bryce" came to DunRoamin' on July 8, 2014 from Woodstock where he was found all alone behind Dairy Queen.  He was born about April 7, 2014.  He was emaciated, dehydrated and had yellow discharge emanating from his eyes and nose.

He was a very sick little guy, but was able to show his gratitude by purring and responding to the love and compassion he received from the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He recovered very quickly and was very fortunate to be fostered by a young lady in Grafton.  Thanks so much, Danielle.  We really appreciate your help, and Bryce loves being in a home!

On October 27, 2014, we learned that Bryce had told his foster mom that he'd like to stay with her forever and she agreed that would be a wonderful idea. We are forever grateful, Danielle.  Thank you for teaching Bryce and Kelsey what a real loving family is like and thanks for being such a great home!

"Tenor" and her three sisters were found in a small cardboard box on DunRoamin's doorstep early on the morning of August 30, 2014.  They had external parasites and upper respiratory infection and are very tiny.  Tenor has one blue eye and one green eye.  All their troubles were treated.

They were born about June 17, 2014.  They are very loving and full of playful energy.

On October 25, 2014 Tenor met a young man with whom she immediately bonded.  She laid quietly in his arms and stared into his eyes.  She's definitely in love.  And so is he!  Congratulations, Tenor!  Please send us photos and tell us all about your new life!  PS:  Although we don't know that Tenor was ever around dogs, she LOVES her new canine friend!

"Nancy" and her sister Maureen came to DunRoamin' on June 11, 2014 from the Centreville area.  They were born about May 7, 2014, were dehydrated and scared.  They were born, along with one other sibling, to a mom in a location where they routinely stood the risk of getting run over by trucks or some other terrible fate.  Three other kittens had died there recently and these little girls needed help.

Nancy and Maureen were very scared but after only one day were much more relaxed.  Nancy has beautiful double paws on the front.  They just can't wait to join a family!  Maureen got a home on October 20 (see below) and  . . .

. . . on October 25, Nancy met a young gentleman from Watson Settlement who offered her a family of her own.  And a bonus:  her friend Alto went along too!  Congratulations!!

"Alto" and her three sisters were found in a small cardboard box on DunRoamin's doorstep early on the morning of August 30, 2014.  They had external parasites and upper respiratory infection and were very tiny.  All their troubles were treated.

They were born about June 17, 2014.  They are very loving and full of playful energy.  They love to wrestle, run and play and are very affectionate!

On October 25, 2014, a young man from Watson Settlement attended our adoption fair and picked Alto as his newest family member.  He also invited Nancy as well (see above)!  We're very happy you have a great new family, Alto!  Please send photos!

"Milos" came to us on the evening of August 4, 2014 from Victoria Corner along with his two sisters and brother.  They were born about July 18, 2014 and had been abandoned outside an apartment where the only shelter their mom could find was a ditch.  They were discovered and taken into the care of a vet tech who warmed them and fed them by syringe until their mom could be located.  All became healthy, especially once their mom, Sharapova, was located and reunited with them.

Milos loves to play.  His favourite toy is a foil ball that he carries around with him.  He's anxiously awaiting a family to play with . . .

. . . and on October 24, 2014, he didn't have to wait any longer.  He, his sister Genie and friend Nova (see below) were adopted by a lady in Holmesville where they'll have the best family ever.  We're so grateful that you and your sister get to stay together!  Congratulations!

"Genie" came to us on the evening of August 4, 2014 from Victoria Corner along with her sister Steffi and two brothers Milos and Raffi.  They were born about July 18, 2014 and had been abandoned outside an apartment where the only shelter their mom could find was a ditch.  They were discovered and taken into the care of a vet tech who warmed them and fed them by syringe until their mom could be located.  All are healthy, especially after their mom, Sharapova, was found and was reunited with them.

On October 24, 2014, Genie was adopted by a lady in Holmesville.  She was ecstatic to learn that her brother, Milos would join her, as well as Nova (see above and below).  Congratulations to the entire family!

"Nova" came to DunRoamin' on August 26, 2014 from Lakeville where she, along with her three brothers, was a stray.  People there were unable to take them in.  She was emaciated, starving, dehydrated and had earmites and ticks, as did her three siblings.  They quickly became healthy, happy, social, playful little kittens who longed for a family of their very own.

On October 24, 2014 Nova got her dream of a familiy of her own.  She and her friends Milos and Genie (see above) were all adopted by a cat-loving family in Holmesville.  Congratulations to everyone.  Best wishes to all!

"Cancel" came to us on May 30, 2011, one of three mother cats who had been living with their collective 11 kittens in Mainstream under the unoccupied home of a man who was undergoing cancer treatment in Saint John. They had no one to care for them.  They were all healthy and the moms were beautiful, loving and affectionate.  Had they not been accepted by DunRoamin', chances are some of them would have died, some would spend their days fighting to stay alive, and all would have continued to contribute to the growing number of unwanted strays.

Cancel, about a year and a half old, and her daughter Cate and sons Canyon, Clapton, and Carey, who were born around the first of May, 2011, were fostered in Jacksonville. Sadly, Carey did not survive, but Cate found a permanent home. Clapton and Canyon were adopted to a wonderful home in Centreville. Cancel spent some time in a foster home, then came back to us, where . . .

. . . on October 23, 2014, she chose a lady from Hartland to be her new family.  Congratulations, Cancel!  It's been a long time coming, but it was WELL worth the wait!  Please stay in touch!

"Kelsey" came to DunRoamin' on July 11, 2014 from Temperance Vale.  Her hind leg had been injured and required amputation. She is doing well and hopes to find a new home soon where she will be an indoor-only cat so that she will never have to experience such trauma again.  She was born about July 15, 2011.

Kelsey is long-haired and has a great personality. She loves to have her head and chin scratched and is enjoys being around people. She cuddles and purrs when she is picked up - she LOVES humans.   Kelsey was very fortunate to be fostered by a young lady from Grafton where she got much love and got to sleep on the bed!  A kitty's best dream!  Thanks, Danielle, for giving her this wonderful opportunity to experience love in your home.

On October 22, 2014, a lady who visits us frequently and is a very strong supporter returned to say that since she had met Kelsey about a month ago she hasn't been able to get her out of her mind.  Kelsey will now live with Lisa in Springhill, NS.  Thanks, Lisa.  We know she'll have the best home possible!

"Zsa Zsa," "Zanza," Zillion and Zest came to us from the Beechwood area on June 7, 2014.  Zenith, their mom, was a stray who had come to a home with her babies but the people were unable to provide food or shelter for her and her family.  Zenith was about a year and a half old, born about the first of January, 2013.

Her four babies were born about May 24, 2014.  Zsa Zsa and her sister Zansa are buff orange and are virtually identical.  They even weigh the same!  On June 22, 2014, Zenith and her family went to a foster home in Fredericton where they experienced the warmth and love of family so they'd be familiar when they finally get that permanent home of their very own.  Thanks, Jackie!

On July 31, 2014, Zsa Zsa and Zanza were adopted by a lady who lives in Woodstock.  Unfortunately, once cool weather came and windows had to be closed, she discovered that she was seriously allergic to their dander, so the little ones came back to DunRoamin'.

On October 22, 2014, the twins met a young lady and her mom from Jacksonville.  ZsaZsa and Zanza will now be their newest family members.  Congratulations, girls!  We're glad you're together and that you have such a great home!  Send lots of photos!!

"Maureen"  and her sister Nancy came to DunRoamin' on June 11, 2014 from the Centreville area.  They were dehydrated and scared.  They were born on May 7, 2014, to a mom in a location where they routinely stood the risk of getting run over by trucks or some other terrible fate.  Three other kittens had died there recently and these little girls needed help.  Siblings Nacho and Taco were also rescued.  They'll all be fine now.

On October 20, 2014, Maureen met a couple from Wakefield.  They have a German Shepherd and would like to add a feline friend to their family.  Congratulations, Maureen!  You get to sleep with a human tonight!  Write soon and tell us about your wonderful new life!

"Ferrero" came to us on the early afternoon of December 4, 2013 when a man brought a carrier of five cats to DunRoamin', insisting that we take them.  As we are a rescue as opposed to a shelter, several other options were presented to him as ways to find homes for his cats.  However, he dropped the carrier on the floor and ran from the building, abandoning all five cats.  They appeared to be about 10 months old, born about February 1, 2013.

Ferrero, his two brothers and two sisters were spayed or neutered and vaccinated.  All tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.  Bottom line is, they're all beautiful cats and they all deserve a loving home and family.  Ferrero is very outgoing and affectionate and he loves to play, too!

On October 16, 2014 Ferrero was adopted by a young lady in Plaster Rock.  His friend Raynard went along also (see below) and they'll be brothers for a canine friend also.  Congratulations, Ferrero!  Write soon!

"Raynard" came to us on May 6, 2014 from the Woodstock area.  He was a stray who had a minor sprain to his hind leg who was brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  His medical bill was fully paid but he was unable to go back with the people who found him.  He was thought to be feral, but is a warm, loving and affectionate little boy.  He'll make a great friend for any cat lover.

Raynard was born about the first of May, 2012.  He's very playful and will chase a tinkle ball for hours.  His second favourite thing is to be cuddled.   Although he's not a huge cat, picking him up is like picking up a brick!

On October 16, 2014 Raynard was adopted by a young lady in Plaster Rock.  His friend Ferrero went along, too (see above).  They will live with this young lady and her black lab.  Congratulations!

"Alice" came to us on November 20, 2013 from Centreville.  Early that morning we got a call about a mother cat who had gotten her head stuck in a glass jar.  She had succeeded in breaking the jar, but the ring was still around her neck as it had been for several weeks.  It was believed that the jar was cutting her neck.  She had six tiny babies that she was nursing and had no shelter.  Kind people were trying to feed her, but she was very scared.

Alice did not appear to be the baby of this cat, but she needed help.  She was caught and taken to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where she was determined to have been born about July 20, 2013.  She was very thin, starving, had fleas and was semi-feral, but that didn't last long with all the love she got from DunRoamin' volunteers.  She was the most timid of the three kittens but is now very affectionate and loving.  She was vaccinated, spayed and tested for FIV/FeLV.

On October 13, 2014, Alice met a lady from Bath.  She will now join her family and have the life she deserves.  Please don't forget to write, Alice.  We'll miss you.

"Zest," his brother Zillion and their twin sisters ZsaZsa and Zanza came to us from the Beechwood area on June 7, 2014.  Zenith, their mom (see above), was a stray who had come to a home with her babies but the people were unable to provide food or shelter for her and her family.  Zenith was about a year and a half old, born about the first of January, 2013.

Her four babies were born about May 24, 2014.  Zest is a deeper shade of orange than his siblings.  His foster mother reports that he is the most rambunctious of the four.  He loves to play and wrestle, and he's the largest of them all.  He has "kitten silliness."  He's not a rough player, and when he runs out of energy he's quite cuddly.  He's still very attached to his mom, Zenith.

On October 13, 2014, Zest became a family member of a young lady from Kilburn.  He has made himself right at home and is well loved.  Congratulations, Zest.  Please send us photos and tell us about your new home.

"Amble" came to us on June 23, 2014 from Centreville where he was a stray who had arrived the previous day who had an injury to his right hind leg.  He was very friendly so has probably been part of a family before.  He's a small orange tabby.

Amble had not eaten in what appeared to be a very long time as he scrambled frantically to get some dry food into him.  Then he drank lots of water also.  He was neutered at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic on June 24, 2014 and his leg was treated as required. He's a very nice little boy who loves people. He's a typical cat - not all that energetic, but he'll make his way to you very quickly to be cuddled and patted!  Amble's leg is healed even better than expected since he came to DunRoamin' and he is ready to be adopted.

On October 11, 2014 a young lady came to meet Amble as she had seen his photo on our website and had fallen in love.  He is grateful to be her new best friend.  Have a great time in Moncton, Amble!  Send photos of you and your new family!

"Harper," Campbell, Tupper, Diefenbaker and Turner came to us from Holmesville on June 30, 2014 where their mom, Pearson, had appeared as a stray a couple of weeks previously.  She and her babies were being fed by a kind gentleman but Pearson appeared to be sick and was panting heavily.  Sadly, she passed away shortly after arriving at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic. Llittle Campbell was not capable of thriving and she passed away on July 12, 2014.  Her siblings miss her.

Harper and her siblings recovered with the best of care from their vet staff. They were born about June 8, 2014. All are loving, playful, affectionate little purr-balls!

On October 10, 2014, Harper and her brother Tupper (see below) were chosen by a gentleman in Florenceville to be new family members.  Congratulations, everyone!

"Tupper," Campbell, Turner, Diefenbaker and Harper came to us from Holmesville on June 30, 2014 where their mom, Pearson, had appeared as a stray a couple of weeks previously.  She and her babies were being fed by a kind gentleman but Pearson appeared to be sick and was panting heavily.  Sadly, she passed away shortly after arriving at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic. Little Campbell also was not capable of thriving and she passed away on July 12, 2014.  Her siblings miss her.  Tupper and his siblings were born about June 8, 2014.

On October 10, 2014, Tupper and his sister Harper (see above) were chosen by a very nice man in Florenceville to join his family.  Please stay in touch.  Congratulations!

"Diefenbaker," Campbell, Turner, Tupper and Harper came to us from Holmesville on June 30, 2014 where their mom, Pearson, had appeared as a stray a couple of weeks previously.  She and her babies were being fed by a kind gentleman but Pearson appeared to be sick and was panting heavily.  Sadly, she passed away shortly after arriving at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  Little Campbell was also inapable of thriving and she passed away on July 12, 2014.  Her siblings miss her.  They were born about June 8, 2014.

On October 10,2014, Diefenbaker was chosen by a nice lady from Hartland to be a new family member.  She also chose Dief's friend Taco (see below) to keep them company.  Congratulations!

"Taco" came to us on June 12, 2014 from the Centreville area. He was a sibling of Maureen, Nancy and Nacho who had been rescued from a location in which they were in constant danger from vehicles and predators, and several kittens had already died.  His two sisters had been rescued the previous day, but he had been too scared to go with them. Taco was born about May 7, 2014 and is a sweet little boy. He was scared at first but now he's fine. He loves people, loves his siblings and loves to run, play, roll, tumble and tear! He's grateful to have a new life and is awaiting his very own family.

On October 10, 2014, a nice lady met Taco and chose him to join her family.  He will have his friend Diefenbaker (see above) as company also.  Congratulations, Taco!  Write often!!

"Lars" came to us on April 14, 2014 when he was found on a doorstep in Gordonsville.  He had a large open wound under his front leg, old battle wounds on his body and evidence of damage to his ears from previous frostbite.  All four canine teeth were broken off and had to be removed.  He had quite obviously been fighting for his life for quite some time. He was born about April, 2011.

He's a super sweet boy who, even though it appeared he had never been indoors before, sat on the window sill and purred while he awaited a chin scratch.  Having gotten to know him, we can safely say that he's one of the most affectionate, loving, purring and grateful cats we've had.  He was pretty scruffy when he arrived but he got better every day.  He does have some skin allergies and may require periodic injections to help control itchy skin, but right now he's eating a hypoallergenic food and he's doing fine!

On October 5, 2014, Lars met a young lady from Quispamsis who had fallen for him.  It was soon obvious that he felt the same when he walked happily into his kennel and laid down for the drive home.  Congratulations, Lars.  Send us photos very soon!

"Boulder" arrived at DunRoamin' on December 6, 2013.  He was one of more than 140 animals (including dogs, cats, birds, pot-bellied pigs, chinchillas and gerbils) seized by the SPCA in Fredericton on December 3, 2013.  DunRoamin' was one of several shelters and rescues asked to assist in helping some of the dozens of cats to regain their health and to find loving homes.  Boulder and four of his friends were brought to DunRoamin'.

Boulder is a senior-aged black neutered male.  His left ear is a "cauliflower ear" (perhaps from an untreated aural hematoma due to ear mites).  He had moderate discharge from his eyes and nose and had ear mites.  He was missing many of his teeth and the rest were in such a state that they required surgery to remove them.  He was emaciated and dehydrated.  He was given fluids and was treated for the remainder of his medical concerns.  He's already been described as "an old gentleman" despite what he's obviously been through.  He's a quiet boy who likes to be patted and to sit on your lap or beside you.  He just loves the company (and body heat!)

On September 28, 2014, Boulder met a couple from Mirimichi who travelled all the way with Lucy, another ex-DunRoamin' stray, to participate in our Walk For The Paws.  They fell in love immediately and Boulder, renamed Nelson in honour of another older gentleman, will now live with them.  Boulder and Lucy already love each other!  Please send lots of pictures and tell us about your new life, Boulder. You and Lucy are both very special to us.  We will really miss you.

"Veronica" came to us on November 20, 2013 from Centreville.  Early that morning we got a call about a mother cat who had gotten her head stuck in a glass jar.  She had succeeded in breaking the jar, but the ring was still around her neck, as it had been for several weeks.  It was believed that the jar was cutting her neck.  She had six tiny babies that she was nursing and had no shelter.  Kind people were trying to feed her, but she was very scared.

Veronica did not appear to be the baby of this cat, but she needed help.  She was taken to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where she was determined to have been born about July 20, 2013.  She was very thin, starving, had fleas and was semi-feral, but that didn't last long with all the love she got from DunRoamin' volunteers.  She was spayed, vaccinated and tested for FIV and FeLV, both of which were negative.

On September 27, 2014, Veronica met a couple from Jacksonville.  She will now live with them, their older cat and a small dog.  Congratulations, Veronica.  We'll miss you - please send lots of photos and letters.

"Niles" came to DunRoamin' on August 26, 2014 from Lakeville where he, along with his brother and sister, was a stray.  People there were unable to take them in.  He was emaciated, starving, dehydrated and had earmites and ticks, as did his three siblings.

All were treated for their medical needs and quickly became happy, healthy, social kittens.  Niles was the first to become very lucky when . . .

. . . on September 26, 2014 he was adopted by a young man in Fredericton where he will be his new best friend.  Please send photos soon, Niles!  Congratulations!

"Polly" came to DunRoamin' on August 11, 2014 from Bristol where she had been found all alone on the Black Brook Road.  She was born about June 25, 2014 and was very skinny and dehydrated.  At this age, she weighed only one pound which is very tiny.  She needed care and attention to help her grow to her normal weight.

Polly purrs when picked up and screams for attention if she's not getting it!  She has extra paws on every foot ("Polly"-dactyl).  She's a real sweetie.

On September 26, 2014, she met a young couple from Fredericton who had fallen in love with her from her photo on this website.  It was much more intense when they met in person, and now Polly has her forever home where she'll sleep on her human every single night!  Congratulations, Polly!  We look forward to photos!!

"Garreth" originally came to DunRoamin' on August 10, 2013.  He had been born about  June 15, 2013.  A man from Woodstock came to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and left him and his eight siblings in a box for DunRoamin' to care for and then fled the building.  They had been left in a box on his deck while he was away from home.

Garreth was adopted on October 13, 2013 but came back to us when he experienced a bout of diarrhea.  He has been treated and is fine.  He'd like to go to a home with adults or kids - someone who will give him plenty of attention.  He LOVES people and will jump into your arms to get a hug and a pat!  He just wants to be loved and will give mega-affection in return.   See him at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZhOIfvFNLk.

On September 21, 2014, Garreth met a young lady from Fredericton who had adored him from afar.  Now they'll be best friends and he'll run happily through her house, sit on her lap and sleep in her bed!  Congratulations, Garreth!

"Chandler" came to us on May 22, 2014 from the Woodstock area.  He had some cuts and scrapes on him, he was not neutered and he required some dental care.  He also had earmites and was thin, but he's got lots of food now.

Chandler is a sweetheart.  He's very loving and affectionate and is a social eater, preferring to eat with company rather than on his own.  He was born about May 20, 2013.  He's a happy, healthy, sweetheart of a cat and loves people and other cats.  He has a huge ruff that makes him look like a tabby lion!

On September 20, 2014, Chandler was chosen by a great couple to be the newest addition to their family, along with his friend Clayton (see below).  They will be friends for five other cats, several of whom are also ex-DunRoamin'!  Congratulations, Chandler!  Don't forget to write often!

"Clayton" came to us from Beaconsfield on July 18, 2014 where he had been found as an injured stray. Upon examination by his vet it was learned that his left front elbow had been shattered by a bullet.  The damage was so severe that his leg had to be amputated.

Clayton is doing well.  He's happy to be pain-free and is adjusting very well to being a three-legged lovebug.  He is very affectionate and loves to purr and head-butt.  He loves company and is the first to greet us as we come through the door!  He does not recognize the word "disability" and is "fully functional," regardless of having only three legs!

On September 20, 2014, Clayton was chosen by a wonderful couple from Lakeville who welcomed him as their newest feline friend.  He is joined by his friend, Chandler (see above) who will also join the ranks of several ex-DunRoamin' strays who have been welcomed as beloved family members.  Thanks, Jada and Craig!!

"Ramona" came to us on July 24, 2014 from Waterville where she was found abandoned on the road.  She had bad earmites and much debris in her ears.  Her left eye was inflamed and infected resulting in a discharge of pus.  Her tail was limp and swollen and she had no response to pain stimuli in it. Part of her tail required amputation.

She is an extremely affectionate little kitten.  She loves people and loves to play, whether it's with a human, other cat or toy.  She's very "in your face" when she wants some loving and will be a great companion for the lucky person who gets to have her as part of their family!

On September 20, 2014, Ramona was adopted by a young couple from Jacksonville where she'll be a new friend for their pets.  Congratulations, Ramona!

"Kennett" came to us on December 18, 2013 from the Bristol area.  He was a stray whom a lady had been feeding for many weeks but he had no shelter as she was unwilling to let him in her home.  Our temperatures have been as cold as -30* lately, and although he had a place where he could get out of the wind, he was not at all warm.

Kennett had earmites but was otherwise medically sound.  He spent his first night in oh-so-long in a warm building with a soft bed.  Can you imagine how he felt?  He loves people, kids and other cats.  He is a very loving little boy.

On September 18, 2014, Kennett got his fondest wish.  It's been a while coming, but he finally got the home of his dreams.  He'll live with a very loving couple in Woodstock and will have a dog, two other ex-DunRoamin' cats and two loving humans for his new family.  Congratulations!

"Patrick" and his brother Swayze came from Perth-Andover on the evening of May 22, 2014.  They were born about May 15, 2014 and were very tiny.  They had diarrhea and were treated for fleas.  Their mom, Lucille, was taking good care of them, but she needed help.  At first they were mostly eating and sleeping as their mom cared for them, but they quickly became very active, playful and cute!  They were fortunate to have a foster home where Swayze eventually became a permanent member.  Lucille and Patrick came back to stay with us at DunRoamin', and . . .

. . . on September 18, 2014, Patrick met a young couple who wished to make him part of their family.  He will now live in Woodstock with a canine friend and two other ex-DunRoamin' felines.  Congratulations, Patrick!!  Send lots of pictures!

"Toro" came to us from the Grand Falls area on July 28, 2014 where she had been run over by a bushhog mower that cuts small bushes on the sides of the roadway.  She sustained head trauma and an injury to her tail and had to have a portion of her tail amputated as a result.    She was born about May 28, 2014.

Toro is a beautiful little girl who played for the first time on the evening of August 12th.  Now she plays constantly!  We're very happy she's feeling better and is happy and healthy.

On September 18, 2014, Toro met a young couple from Woodstock who fell in love with her.  She is now part of the family, and will have a canine friend, as well as two other ex-DunRoamin' feline friends!  Thanks for giving them a such a great home!

"Richmond" and his sister Randi came to DunRoamin' on September 10, 2014 from the Riverbank area where they were found on the side of the road.  No other kittens or a mom were located.  They were born about July 30, 2014.

Richmond and Randi were very tiny little kittens who would have loved to still have their mom with them, but sadly, they were alone.  They were well cared for until . . .

. . . September 18, 2014, when Richmond met a lady and her two young children.  They all fell immediately in love with each other and Ricmond will now live in Bristol with his new family.  Please don't forget to send us family photos, Richmond!  Congratulations!

"Blue Bell" came to us from near Plaster Rock on July 15, 2014 where she had been found all alone on the side of a road.  She was born about June 1, 2014, so was only about six weeks old.

Blue Bell was emaciated (starving to death), dehydrated, her eyes and nose were caked closed with pus, she was hypothermic (very cold - low body temperature), had fleas, earmites and an upper respiratory infection for which she was treated.  She's extremely cute and loving and another fine descriptive word for her is "Grateful" for all the love and care she's received, especially from her foster family.

On September 18, 2014, we learned that her foster family loved her so much (and vice versa) that she would be a permanent part of the family and will live in Wicklow.  We're so happy for you, Blue Bell!  Congratulations!!

"Anna" came to DunRoamin' well after dark on March 6, 2014 from the Bath area.  A car pulled into a driveway, dropped her out and drove away, making her someone else's responsibility.

Anna was scared but was quickly made safe and warm.  Had she not been noticed immediately and taken in she would have spent the night in a strange area with no shelter.  The temperature was -14*C when she was abandoned.  She was examined by a vet who determined that she was uninjured.  She did a lot of hissing and spitting at first, but has realized that she's among friends now and is very friendly and affectionate.  She's very energetic and LOVES to play with her cat friends.

On September 16, 2014, Anna met a young couple from Fredericton and quickly made them realize that she was the one for them!  She will be a new friend for their ex-DunRoamin' dog, also!  Congratulations, Anna!  Please write soon!

"Turner," Campbell, Tupper, Diefenbaker and Harper came to us from Holmesville on June 30, 2014 where their mom, Pearson, had appeared as a stray a couple of weeks previously.  She and her babies were being fed by a kind gentleman but Pearson appeared to be sick and was panting heavily.  Sadly, she passed away shortly after arriving at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic. Sadly, little Campbell was not capable of thriving and she passed away on July 12, 2014. Her siblings miss her.

Turner and her siblings did well and received the best of care from their vet staff. They were born about June 8, 2014. They love to sleep, play and have fun together.  They're a wonderful little family.

On September 15, 2014, Turner met a young man from the Grand Falls area who thought he'd make the perfect new best friend, and Turner agreed!  Congratulations, Turner.  Don't forget to send lots of e-mails and pictures!

"Randi" and her brother Richmond came to DunRoamin' on September 10, 2014 from the Riverbank area where they were found on the side of the road.  No other kittens or a mom were located.  They were born about July 30, 2014.

Richmond and Randi are tiny little kittens who would love to still have their mom with them, but sadly, they are alone.  They will be well cared for until they are old enough to get a permanent home.

On September 12, 2014, Randi was adopted by a family in Florenceville where she'll be the new best friend of a teenage boy and a new friend for Pebble, an ex-DunRoamin' stray.  Congratulations!

"Raffi" came to us on the evening of August 4, 2014 from Victoria Corner along with his mom, two sisters and brother.  They were born about July 18, 2014 and had been abandoned outside an apartment where the only shelter their mom, Sharapova, could find was a ditch.  They were discovered and taken into the care of a vet tech who warmed them and fed them by syringe until their mom could be located.  All are healthy, now that their mom is back with them.

Raffi and his siblings are all cute, adorable, playful little furballs.  They love people, toys and all forms of entertainment.

On September 12, 2014, Raffi was adopted by a young man from Hartland.  Raffi will be his special friend for life!  Congratulations to everyone.  Write us lots of letters to tell us about your new life, Raffi!

"Little Stinker" came to us on April 13, 2013 from Jacksonville where he was an injured stray who had been noted in the area.  He was born about April 14, 2011.  He was live trapped to get him help. He had a badly-infected right front paw which required medical attention.  He quickly became much better and was happy to be safe, warm and have a crew of minions who wait on his every desire.

Little Stinker is so named because he smelled like skunk, and his rescuer's truck now does the same.  But that's all part of the experience and he's not upset at all.  He's just glad he's safe.   He gets along well with the more than 12 cats with whom he currently resides.

On September 12, 2014, Stinker was chosen as the newest friend for a young lady in Bristol.  He'll be a companion for another ex-DunRoamin' stray, Nanaimo.  Congratulations, everyone!

"Lindor" came to us on the early afternoon of December 4, 2013 when a man brought a carrier of five cats to DunRoamin', insisting that we take them.  As we are a rescue as opposed to a shelter, several other options were presented to him as ways to find homes for his cats.  However, he dropped the carrier on the floor and ran from the building, abandoning all five cats.  They appeared to be about 10 months old, born about February 1, 2013.

Lindor, his two brothers and two sisters were spayed or neutered and vaccinated.  All tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.  Bottom line is, they're all beautiful cats and they all deserve a loving home and family.  Lindor is the quietest of his siblings, but he's very loving and playful.

On September 11, 2014, Lindor won the whole jackpot.  His sister, Lindt, had been adopted by a lady in Simonds in December, 2013.  She was lonely and missed her brother, so Lindor gets to live with Lindt and her family from now on.  Congratulations, little guy!  Best present EVER!!

"Steffi" came to us on the evening of August 4, 2014 from Victoria Corner along with her mom, Sharapova, sister Genie and two brothers, Raffi and Milos.  The kittens were born about July 18, 2014 and had been abandoned outside an apartment where the only shelter their mom could find was a ditch.  They were discovered and taken into the care of a vet tech who warmed them and fed them by syringe until their mom could be located.  All are healthy, now that their mom is back with them.

They are all beautiful and loving cats.  They want only a family to love.

On September 11, 2014, Steffi met a young lady from Lower Brighton who fell in love with her.  She now lives near Hartland where she's loved beyond her wildest dreams!  And she gets to sleep on the bed!!  Congratulations, Steffi!  Write often!!

"Lambert" and her brother Chesney and sister Underwood were brought to us along with their mom, Liberty, from Coldstream on July 8, 2014.  They had wandered into a yard looking for food and shelter but no one could take them in.

The kittens were born about July 7, 2014 and were relatively healthy.  They were fostered in Connell and quickly learned about love, affection and trust.  Underwood was adopted on August 24th.

On September 10, 2014 they met a young couple from Canterbury who will make them the happiest kitties ever by making them part of their family.  Congratulations!  We are so happy you got to go to a home together!

"Chesney" and his sisters Lambert and Underwood were brought to us along with their mom, Liberty, from Coldstream on July 8, 2014.  They had wandered into a yard looking for food and shelter but no one could take them in.

The kittens were born about July 7, 2014 and were relatively healthy.  They were fostered in Connell and quickly learned about love, affection and trust. Underwood was adopted on August 24th.

On September 10, 2014, Chesney learned that both he and his sister Lambert would now live in Canterbury as permanent family members of a very nice young couple.  Congratulations!!

"Swayze" came from Perth-Andover on the evening of May 22, 2014 along with his brother Patrick, mom Lucille and his friends Reynolds, Serena, Depp and Meryl.  The babies were born about May 15, 2014 and were very tiny.  They had diarrhea and were treated for fleas.  Their mom, Lucille, took very good care of them but she certainly needed help.  At first they were mostly eating and sleeping as their mom cared for them, but they soon grew to be very active, playful and cute! Patrick, Swayze and their mom Lucille were very fortunate to go to a foster home so they could learn to live in a home.

On September 8, 2014, we learned that Swayze would become a permanent member of his foster family in Riverbank.  Congratulations, Swayze! Send lots of photos so your mom and brother will know how you're doing!

"Fitz" and "Simmons" came to us on August 4, 2014 from the Centreville area where they had been rescued from a bad situation.  They were very hungry, dirty and little Fitz has been diagnosed as having dermatitis around his anus which would have been very painful for him.  He does not have a tail.  The brothers were born about the first of June, 2014.  Fitz is smaller than his sibling and likes to sleep on top of him for warmth, softness and comfort!  They are very close.

Fitz is mostly white and Simmons has reddish-coloured tips on his ears and tail.  They are both BEAUTIFUL!  They were timid at first, but quickly learned confidence and love at their foster home.

On September 5, 2014 Fitz and Simmons met a young lady from Fredericton.  She easily fell in love (and vice versa) and they are now a family.  We're glad the brothers got to stay together.  Congratulations, everyone!  Please write soon!

"Razor" came to us on June 20, 2014 from Woodstock where he was a stray who arrived at a home of a very caring couple. They immediately recognized his requirement for medical help and made sure he received it.

Razor was born about June 1, 2006 and has apparently had a difficult life.  He has an aural hematoma on his right ear which has caused him both pain and discomfort.  He also has experienced allergies which has injured his skin, especially around his head and neck.  He must have been in terrible discomfort.

Despite his history, Razor is a loving and affectionate little boy.   The best word to describe this little boy is "Grateful," and he'll be an awesome addition to any family.

On September 2, 2014, Razor was adopted by a couple in Hartland where they've promised him the best life he could ever dream of.  Congratulations, Razor!  Please send us photos of you and your new family!

"Zillion," Zest and their twin sisters ZsaZsa and Zanza came to us from the Beechwood area on June 7, 2014.  Zenith, their mom, was a stray who had come to a home with her babies but the people were unable to provide food or shelter for her and her family.  Zenith was about a year and a half old, born about the first of January, 2013.

Her four babies were born about May 24, 2014. His foster mom reports that Zillion is a real cuddle bug.  He loves to sit on her lap or lay in her arms and falls asleep with only the slightest bit of petting.  His young friend wraps him up in a blanket like a baby and carries him around the house, and he loves it!

On September 2, 2014, Zillion was adopted by a gentleman in Fredericton where he'll have a great life as the only pet.  Congratulations, Zillion!!

"Liberty" came to us on July 8, 2014 from Coldstream where she and her kittens had apparently wandered into a yard.  She is healthy, as are her daughters Underwood and Lambert and her son Chesney.  The people who found them could not care for them and they had no place to go.

Liberty was born about February 1, 2013 and her kittens were only about a month old, having been born about July 7, 2014.  She is a very good mother who has taken great care of her babies.  She loves people as well and has obviously been someone's pet.

On August 25, 2014, Liberty was adopted by a couple from Perth-Andover.  She won their hearts in no time flat!  She is Underwood's mom (see below) and they are both ecstatic that they get to stay together. Liberty is the boss of the house, including the 95-pound dog!  Congratulations to the entire family!

"Underwood" and her brother Chesney and sister Lambert were brought to us along with their mom, Liberty, from Coldstream on July 8, 2014.  They had wandered into a yard looking for food and shelter but no one could take them in.

The kittens were born about July 7, 2014 and were relatively healthy.  They were fostered in Connell and learned quickly about love, affection and trust.   A young lady from Perth-Andover saw Underwood's photo on our website and fell in love.  Then . . .

. . . on August 24, 2014 she met her in person and fell in love all over again.  Underwood is very happy to have a new home and is grateful that her mom, Liberty, went with her as a foster kitty to ensure the transition to a new home is a smooth one for her baby.  It always helps to have mom along with you on your first day of anything!  Congratulations, Underwood!  Please write soon!  Thanks, Tasha!

"Regis" came to us on July 18, 2014 from Beaconsfield where he was found on the road. He had a broken left hind leg, fleas, ear mites and abrasions on his lips from road rash.  He was born about February 17, 2014.

His vet has placed two pins in his tiny little leg and he recovered just fine. He is extremely affectionate and wants to be with/around/on/playing with people all the time.  When he exhausts himself, he's the most cuddly little boy you ever may meet!

On August 24, 2014, Regis met a young couple from Fredericton.  He warmed their hearts just like he's warmed all ours and now he has a permanent home!  Please send lots of photos of you and your new family and tell us all about your new life!  We'll miss you!

"Cecil" came to DunRoamin' on June 10, 2014 from Woodstock where he belonged to a person who could not afford to care for him.  They believed he had urinary problems and let him outside to try to survive on his own.  Fortunately, a neighbour rescued him.  He was born about 2003.

Cecil had a bladder infection, moderate tartar on his teeth and was moderately overweight.  All these things were very easy to treat, and he has a new lease on life.  He's a very nice boy.

On August 18, 2014, Cecil and his friends Noah and Skylar (see below) were adopted by a family in Jacksontown where they are loved beyond their wildest dreams!  And they get to sleep on the bed!  Congratulations!!

"Noah" came to us on January 24, 2014 from the Oakland area.  He had been urinating on articles in the home and they no longer wanted him.  He also was not interested in eating and was a very unhappy boy to the point that Soft Paws had to be applied.

Noah was found to have a minor urinary tract infection which was treated quickly.  This brought his personality back to normal since he felt so much better so quickly.  He is about seven years old and is just missing that one little thing . . . family.

On August 18, 2014, he found just that!  He and his friends Cecil (see above) and Skylar (see below) were adopted by a family in Jacksontown and they are in complete heaven! Life couldn't be better!  Congratulations to all!!

"Skylar" came to us on July 4, 2014 from Carlo where he had been born as one of two siblings about April 30, 2013.  His sibling had subsequently passed away and Skylar was very sick.  His owners had numerous cats in their home and were unable to care for him.

Skylar was brought to DunRoamin' in the early afternoon and was examined and found to have a severe ear mite infestation, was very thin, had an eye infection with discharge, nasal infection with discharge and he weighed only 1.5 pounds.  Skylar was very lethargic and uninterested in eating when he arrived, but he is doing better.  He was fed by syringe if/when necessary and was already purring and kneading his first day, so he feels better already.  He was born about April 30, 2014.

On August 15, 2014, Skylar met a lady and her young daughter from Jacksontown who decided they'd like to have him come join their family.  Congratulations, Skylar!  We know you've got the home of your dreams!!

On the afternoon of January 9, 2014, two people attended DunRoamin' with four  of approximately 30 cats they had rescued from a bad situation near Perth-Andover.  They had found ways to feed, shelter, spay, neuter and find homes for all the others but circumstances prohibited them from completing their task of rehoming these last four.

"Breeze", Pounce, Blitz, and Bristle are loving cats who have been through a lot.  Pounce and Breeze are males, Blitz and Bristle are females.  They were born about January 1, 2013.  They were all scared and confused, but quickly became accepting of love, hugs and pats with the exception of Blitz who was more timid, but she came along fine once she realized that she'll get the love she needs.  Bristle is easily the most outgoing of the group and she loves to be patted, picked up and cuddled.

On August 15, 2014, a lady who had met Breeze a couple of weeks previously returned to give him a new home.  He'll now live with another ex-DunRoamin' stray, Phoebe (see below).  Congratulations, Breeze!  Have a great life!!  You've got it made now!  Please stay in touch!

"Cozy" came from the Florenceville area on October 29, 2013.  He was the baby of a mother who wasn't nursing him.  He was starving and was too young to urinate on his own.  He was born about October 1, 2013.  He had to be fed by syringe and stimulated to urinate.

On August 11, 2014, Cozy was adopted by his foster family.  Best wishes, Cozy.

"Nina" and her siblings Reddington, Keen, Spader and Diega came to DunRoamin' on the morning of June 2, 2014 from Lansdowne where they had been found in a box on the side of the road.  They were born about April 28, 2014, only just a month old.  They had no mom and no human to care for them.

Other than some minor eye infections, they were healthy.  They required food, warmth and love, and they soon got lots of that!

Nina and her siblings were fostered by a wonderful woman in Woodstock until they find permanent homes. Thanks, Lyn!

On July 31, 2014, Nina was chosen as the newest member of a family in Jacksonville.  She'll be the best friend of a young child who loves cats.  Congratulations to everyone!!

Their foster mother reports that the twins are very adventurous and were the first to climb out of the kennel and learned how to get over the baby gate in one day!  They love to hide under the dust ruffle on the bed and attack feet as they go by! At this age, they're still virtually indistinguishable!

On July 31, 2014, Zsa Zsa and Zanza met their new family.  They'll live with a wonderful lady in Woodstock who adores cats!  She's a foster mother for DunRoamin' as well, so these two little ones will always have friends to play with.  Congratulations!

"Chick" was one of two kittens found on the side of the road near the Ja-Sa-Le in Hartland on June 22, 2011. She was adopted to a home in Holmesville in August 2011 but was returned to DunRoamin' on July 17, 2014. She was born about May 15, 2011. Chick is a little timid, but is doing okay.  She's happy to still have her best friend Cheddah to comfort her and they sleep cuddled up together.

On July 31, 2014, Chick was adopted by a young lady from Woodstock.  She was ecstatic and very grateful to learn that her best friend Cheddah (see below) was also invited to be part of her new family.  Congratulations, Chick.  Please make sure to send us lots of photos and tell us how you and Cheddah are doing!

"Cheddah" returned to DunRoamin' on July 16, 2014. He had been adopted by a family in Holmesville in 2011. He had originally come to us from Bristol with three of his siblings on June 20, 2011. A stray had had babies and the owner had wanted them all euthanized. We couldn't do that, of course, so they all came to us and found homes.  He was no longer wanted in his home so he came back to us.

Cheddah is a sweet cat who loves people and loves to cuddle. He was born about March 7, 2011.

On July 31, 2014, Cheddah was adopted by a young lady in Woodstock along with his best friend Chick (see above).  We're very grateful that he and Chick get to stay together and go to someone who promises to love them forever!  Congratulations, Cheddah!

"Naughty" came to DunRoamin' on December 23, 2013 from the Florenceville area when he was observed to have an injury. His left hind leg was fractured and he was having trouble getting around.  He was most probably struck by a car.  That must HURT!!  And it's COLD out there, too!  He was born about March, 2012.

Naughty underwent surgery at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic to have a pin inserted in his leg and he wore a cast for quite some time.  He's a very nice boy who was grateful to be warm and pain-free.  He got his cast off and then the pin was removed from his leg and he's doing just fine.  He's a quiet little boy who shows his gratitude for his new life daily by purring, kneading and head butting the nearest human!

On July 30, 2014 Naughty was adopted by a family in St Almo.  Have a great life, Naughty!  You'll get to sleep on a bed with someone who will love you more than you can even imagine!  Your friends will all miss you.  Write soon.

"Phoebe" came to us on November 7, 2012 from Fielding where she was seen near a mail box all by herself. She's about five years old, was thin, starving, had deer ticks, a hernia, and very obviously needed help or she would not survive the coming cold weather.

She was very grateful to be safe, warm and have lots of food. She loves kids and other cats and is grateful to the foster home she shared for many months.

On July 30, 2014, Phoebe was chosen by a nice lady from Beechwood to be her newest friend.  We know you'll love your new family, Phoebe.  Please keep in touch!

"Tomali" originally came to DunRoamin' from the Perth area on October 8, 2013.  She was born about September 30, 2013.  She was adopted out on December 7, 2013 to a family but sadly one person became allergic so she came back to us on June 25, 2014 to get a new home.

Tomali was scared and timid at first, but she has realized she's back with her former family and has settled in well.  She hopes for another home soon.  She likes other cats and would like to be part of a family that has other felines for her to play and sleep with.

On July 30, 2014, Tomali was adopted by a family in Bath.  She will also be joined by her young friend Maureen (see above).  Thanks for giving these two beauties a home!

"Pringles" came to us on April 28, 2014.  She is a medium-haired little girl who appeared to have some allergies which has caused her to lick some of her fur off.  She was born about April, 2009.

Pringles is a beautiful and affectionate little girl.  She is missing part of her tail from a previous injury.  She is eating a special food and her fur has grown back very well.  She is the first to greet visitors and she loves to roll, purr and head butt.  She's extremely loving and wants to be with people at every possible opportunity.  She's the ultimate cuddle cat!  And she has the most beautiful golden eyes!

On July 30, 2014, Pringles was adopted by a lady from Oakville where she'll now have the life of which she has always dreamed.  You're a very fortunate little one - thanks to your new family!

"Reddington" and his siblings Nina, Keen, Spader and Diega came to DunRoamin' on the morning of June 2, 2014 from Lansdowne where they had been found in a box on the side of the road.  They were born about April 28, 2014, only just a month old.  They had no mom and no human to care for them.

Other than some minor eye infections, they were healthy.  They required food, warmth and love, and they soon got lots of that! Reddington and his siblings were fostered by a great lady in Woodstock, and . . .

. . . on July 24, 2014 Reddington was the first of his family to be adopted. He now lives in Centreville with three children who adore him completely! Send photos, Red!!

"Gunther" came to us on May 14, 2014 from Gordonsville.  He was a stray who was observed to be very badly matted and very scruffy.  The matts were so bad that he had a hard time standing straight without pain.  He had to be completely shaved which then revealed way too many open wounds on all his legs.  He definitely needed help.

He's grateful for the comfort and food and a warm, safe place to recover, as well as the attention and love he got from the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He was born about April, 2011.

On July 22, 2014 Gunther was adopted by a family from Bristol. He's very happy to have his own loving family and he shows his love and affection at every possible opportunity. Thanks for giving him a home!

"Carroll" came back to DunRoamin' on July 9, 2013.  He had been adopted on January 18, 2013 and had been doing fine, but his owner developed medical problems and he was no longer able to live with them, so he came back to us for a new home.  He was born about August 1, 2012.

Carroll had originally come from the Woodstock area on December 14, 2012 because he had a serious eye injury which had become infected.  As a result he had to have his eye surgically removed, but it doesn't slow him down one little bit!  He's very loving, playful and affectionate.

On July 18, 2014, Carroll was adopted by a family who has loved him for a very long time. He's right where he should be and everyone is ecstatic. Thanks to this family for making him a part of their lives. We are very grateful.

"Reynolds" came from Perth-Andover with his mother, other siblings and half-siblings on the evening of May 22, 2014.  He weighed only one pound.  He had eye infections and required other medical attention as well, but he recovered very quickly with treatment by Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He's the first one to play and the first one to greet people.  He loves to climb and will easily climb up your arm to sit on your shoulder and snuggle against your neck.  He loves playing with his siblings, and he was the first to learn to climb and loves to do it.

This entire family came from an area where there are many cats who have no one to care for them.  As they are not spayed or neutered, they continue to grow in number.  With no one to care for them, they get sick, injured and suffer terribly.  If you can help these little ones, please do so.

On July 12, 2014, Reynolds was adopted by a wonderful couple in Beechwood.  He'll be a new playmate for former DunRoamin' cats Shaemus and Loewen (now Oscar).  We'd like to thank this family for making these three part of their home and family.  Please send lots of photos.  Your foster family will miss you!

"Serena" came from Perth-Andover on the evening of May 22, 2014.  She was a sibling to Depp and Reynolds and was born about April 18, 2014.  One of their siblings had already died, so she was grateful to have the medical attention that helped her overcome her eye infection.  She weighed only .7 pounds.

Serena was more quiet than her brothers, but very quickly learned that the people she's with now will care for her.  She loves to play.  She was fortunate to go to a very loving foster home in Bedell with her siblings Depp and Reynolds and her friend Meryl.

On July 10, 2014, Serena went to her new home in Grafton where she'll be spoiled beyond her wildest dreams.  Your foster family will miss you, Serena.  Please write often!

"Reddick" came to us on June 25, 2014 from the Florenceville area after being dropped with us because no one else would care for the little furball who is just a baby.

Reddick was thin, had ear mites and a healing abrasion on his lip. He had been found in a drainpipe but had obviously been around people because of his loving personality.

On July 2, 2014 Reddick was adopted by a young woman from Florenceville.

"Shaemus" and his brother Loewen (see below) came to DunRoamin' on the morning of March 30, 2014.  They had been left in a carrier in front of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic at about 11:40 pm the previous evening.  Since the clinic is not open on Sundays it is very fortunate that they were spotted around noon the next day.  They were very cold, thirsty and hungry, as well as scared, having been there for almost twelve hours in the cold temperatures.  The front third of the cat carrier in which they were abandoned was drifted in with snow and snow covered the top as well.

They were brought into the warmth, fed and given water.  They were examined by a vet who determined that they were about eight months old and were healthy other than having fleas and ear mites.  They were vaccinated, neutered and tested for Feline Immunodeficiency and Feline Leukemia for which they tested negative.  They are kind and loving animals who lived happily with several other cats until . . .

. . . June 23, 2014, when Shaemus and Loewen met a couple from Beechwood.  The attraction was mutual, and they went to their new home immediately.  We're all very happy for you both!  Please write often!

"Loewen" and his brother Shaemus (see above) came to DunRoamin' on the morning of March 30, 2014.

They are kind and loving animals despite their experience.

On June 23, 2014, Leowen and Shaemus met a couple from Beechwood and the attraction was mutual.  They have the family they've always dreamed of.  Congratulations!  Please stay in touch!

"LeMieux" came to us on March 5, 2014 from Holmesville where he was a stray who was observed to be injured.  He had no shelter, was scared and had to be live trapped.

LeMieux was examined by a vet who determined he was about three years old, had ear mites, cat fight wounds on his head and a healed bite wound on his right hind leg.  He's a very nice boy who loves to cuddle.  He's very quiet and unassuming.  He was very happy to have a warm and safe home where he was loved at DunRoamin', but . . .

. . . on June 22, 2014, he met a young man with whom he decided he would become best friends.  He'll now live with him near Florenceville and be his best buddy.  Congratulations, LeMieux.  You made it!  Don't forget to stay in touch!

"Rossi," his mom and three siblings came to us on April 15, 2014 from Grafton where the babies had all been born in a milk can in the middle of cold temperatures.  His mom, Prentiss, and siblings JJ, Garcia and Reid all came to live with us.  The kittens were born on April 13, 2014.

Rossi is very cute, playful and loving.  He wanted nothing more than a family of his own to enjoy because he's very social and loves to play.

On June 22, 2014, Rossi met a young family from Jacksonville and decided he'd like to adopt them.  He now lives happily with two young children who love him immensely already!!

"Tyrion" came to DunRoamin' from Woodstock on January 16, 2012 where he was found on the trail behind JR's by some people out for a walk. Tyrion was emaciated, dehydrated and had bad infections in both eyes.  He was having a hard time breathing also.  Tyrion was only about one and a half years old.  He was brought for help, quickly treated and given a nice warm bed and food.  He tested positive for Feline Leukemia.

Tyrion was very sick, but the skill and efforts of his vet team have proven to be successful.  He's perfectly healthy now and will jump up to greet people and beg for a pat and a chin rub!  He's very quiet, laid back and loving.  He loves people, other cats, dogs - anyone who loves him!

On June 18, 2014, Tyrion was welcomed into a home in Perth-Andover where he'll be a friend for several ex-DunRoamin' cats and dogs.  He enjoys roaming his new kingdom and has quickly ingratiated himself as a loving and affectionate family member.  Thanks to his new family!

"Garcia" came to DunRoamin' on April 15, 2014 from the Grafton area where she was one of four kittens born to Prentiss (see below), a one-year old stray. The kittens were born in a steel milk can at the Celtic Fox, so it was a cool home in the winter and the entire family needed warmth, food and care.  They were rescued by the folks at Celtic Fox, people who also ensured that money was raised to help care for them.

On June 18, 2014, Garcia learned that she would be a permanent member of a family in Keswick where she'll live happily ever after.  As a huge bonus, she'll get to live with her mom who was also adopted by this family (see below)!  Congratulations!!

"Prentiss," a 10-month-old little orange girl, came to us on April 15, 2014 from Grafton where she had given birth to four babies in a milk can two days previously.  She is a very affectionate cat who loves laps and purrs constantly.  She's not much more than a baby herself.  The kittens were born on April 13, 2014.  Prentiss was born about April 15, 2013.

She's a very good mom who keeps her babies warm, clean and well fed.  She is grateful to her foster mother who has kept her family warm and safe and has given them the confidence that comes from being secure and loved.

On June 18, 2014, Prentiss learned that she will be the newest member of a family from Keswick.  The next bit of good news was that her daughter, Garcia, will go along with her so that there will be a beautiful furball for each of the two kids to love!  Congratulations to everyone!

"Reid" was born on April 13, 2014 to Prentiss, a 10-month-old little orange girl who came to us on April 15, 2014 from Grafton where she had given birth to four babies in a milk can two days previously.  She was a very affectionate and loving cat who loves laps and purrs constantly.  She's not much more than a baby herself.

Reid, his brother Rossi and sisters Garcia and JJ were taken in by DunRoamin' and fostered by the best of foster mothers.  Sadly, JJ passed away on May 1st.  The others are all doing well.  They're energetic, playful, loving and affectionate.

On June 18, 2014 Reid was adopted by a young lady from Florenceville who now lives in Waasis.  She has been part of a loving foster family for several of our strays so we know that Reid will have the best home possible.  Send us lots of updates and photos, Reid.  We'll miss you!  Thanks, Hannah!

"Prada" arrived at DunRoamin' on the morning of October 8, 2013 when she was left on the doorstep.  She was another unwanted, unloved, dropped-off kitten.  She was born about September 1, 2013.  Other than being skinny and hungry, she was relatively healthy.

She purred easily but was confused, scared and uncertain.  She quickly was made safe, warm, fed, spayed, vaccinated and received all the care due her. She was very grateful to the young lady who arrived at DunRoamin' on October 9th to offer her a foster home.  Thanks so much, Hannah, Heidi and Robert!!  They report that she is a bit timid with strangers but she is very loving and can out-purr the big cats any day!

On June 14, 2014, Prada was officially invited to be a permanent member of her foster family.  They just couldn't possibly do without her!  Congratulations, Prada!

"Ganong" came to us on the early afternoon of December 4, 2013 when a man brought a carrier of five cats to DunRoamin', insisting that we take them.  As we are a rescue as opposed to a shelter, several other options were presented to him as ways to find homes for his cats who were healthy and uninjured.  However, he dropped the carrier on the floor and ran from the building, abandoning all five cats.  They appeared to be about 10 months old, born about February 1, 2013.

Ganong, his two brothers and two sisters were spayed or neutered and vaccinated.  All tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.  Bottom line is, they're all beautiful cats and they all deserve a loving home and family.  Ganong is a sweetheart and a gentleman.  He will gladden the home of his new family - that's a guarantee!

On June 9, 2014, Ganong got the chance of his lifetime:  he and his friend Plinko (see below) were adopted by a couple from North Lake.  There they will experience a real family and be treated as the prince and princess that they are.  Congratulations, Ganong.  Please keep in touch.  We'll all miss you.

"Plinko" came to DunRoamin' on January 27, 2014 from the Perth-Andover area where she was a stray who was injured.  Upon examination it was determined that she was thin and lame on her right front leg due to in infected injury on the back of her elbow.  She's only about one year old.

Plinko must have had a family recently.  She is in decent physical shape other than her leg injury and she is very loving and affectionate - obviously having been familiar with being on the receiving end of the same affection.  Her leg has healed quickly and she's looking for her family.  She loves to stand or ride on your shoulders and play with your hair.

On June 9, 2014, Plinko was chosen along with her friend Ganong (see above) as a member of the family of a couple from North Lake.  She finally has the family she deserves.  We thank this couple for giving both Plinko and Ganong the home they deserve.

"Grover" came to us on May 13, 2014, after he had been found on the walking trail in Hartland.  He was starving, had ear mites. and was so matted and full of burdocks that he could barely move.  He was born about the middle of July, 2013.

Grover is a real sweetheart.  He's putting on weight now that he has access to lots of healthy food and is grateful to be able to walk and get around without being encumbered by the matts of burdocks.  He loves people and is a real cuddler.

On June 4, 2014, Grover was returned to his family who had been looking for him for weeks.  He will now be an indoor-only cat so that he'll be safe and not have to undergo such an ordeal again.  Congratulations, Grover.  Please stay in touch with us.  We'll miss your cute little face!

"Hearts" came to DunRoamin' on October 5, 2012 from Centreville where he was found by a compassionate woman. He was barely alive, was very cold and anemic. Intensive medical care at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic brought him back to where he should be and he's grateful to his medical staff who gave him a second chance.  He was born about the middle of May 2012.

Hearts is very loving and affectionate and you'd never know now that he had been in such dire straits.  His favourite words are "food" and "thank you."  On December 3, 2013 he was adopted to a home in Waterville, but unfortunately his kitten antics were a bit too much for his family who had two other older felines in the household.  So Hearts came back with us awaiting a permanent home.  He is very affectionate, energetic and curious and is a very entertaining little boy who's waiting for that special someone who will appreciate his outgoing personality.

On May 31, 2014 that person acknowledged just how special he was by inviting Hearts to spend the rest of his life with her.  Hearts and his friend Siren (see below) will join the a family which contains several other pets, some of whom are DunRoamin'.  Congratulations!  Thanks to this wonderful DunRoamin' supporter!

"Siren" came to us on May 11, 2011 from Ashland.  Her owners didn't like her behaviour so she was unwanted.  Siren came to us and has been with us since.  She has a very unique personality.  She LOVES people and craves attention.  She is very loving and affectionate.  She currently lives with 14 other cats and prefers to be the boss of them all.  She lets them know when she wants her space by hissing at them but has never been a threat at all.  She just wants to be the ruler of the room.

Siren particularly loves men, but whatever your gender she is the first one to jump on your lap and demand attention and affection.  She is a beautiful bright white cat who simply wants her very own human upon whom she can dote and provide her love and attention as she wishes.  She is friendly, loving and very attentive and affectionate.

Siren was fostered by a very good DunRoamin' friend in Brookville and on May 31, 2014 we learned that she would never leave.  She and her friend Hearts (see above) will join a pet-friendly household where they'll live the life they deserve forever!  Siren is in her glory, finally having found her very own heaven!

ADOPTED CATS 2014

"Pilgrim" came to DunRoamin' at 6:12 pm, October 12, 2013 when he was abandoned with his basket and food at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic after working hours.  He was born about April, 2011.  He was an intact male who had fleas and ear mites.  It was a very cool night and coyotes were howling, perhaps announcing their plans for supper.  He tested positive for FIV**.

Pilgrim is a great boy with lots of personality.  He loves dogs and considers himself the boss of the building.  He yowls for attention and splays himself in the middle of the floor for all to admire.  He's waiting for that perfect someone with a matching personality to take him home - someone with taste, personality and class!  He was invited to live in a foster home while he awaited a permanent home.

On May 30, 2014, Pilgrim was adopted by his loving foster family and will live near Lakeville.  Congratulations, Pilgrim!  We're so happy for you!

** FIV is contagious to other cats through blood and saliva.  It is reasonably difficult to spread, however, and now believed to be mostly spread through deep bite wounds.  Obviously it would be ideal if FIV positive cats only lived with other FIV positive cats, but currently some of the large rescue centers in the US have been studying multi-cat households with FIV-positive cats living with FIV-negative cats and have so far found the risk to the non-FIV-cats to be very small, assuming that the cats are all spayed/neutered and used to living in groups (ie:  not as likely to fight). Please read about FIV here.

"Izzy" came to us on May 27, 2014 and she was very ill.  She was a stray who had appeared near Limestone, NB and a lady was trying to help her but Izzy required much medical assistance.  Izzy had a bladder infection, and ear infection, stomatitis and she was not yet spayed.  Due to the stomatitis she experienced much discomfort and pain and all her teeth had to be removed.

On May 30, 2014, Izzy was adopted by her rescuer.  Izzy will now be an indoor cat and will experience no pain or discomfort again in her lifetime, which we know will now be long and happy.

"Julia" came to us on October 1, 2012.  Her owner had passed away and she had no place to go. She had fleas, but was otherwise healthy.

Julia is a beautiful tabby and she has double paws on the front.  She's very quiet, loving and affectionate.  She loves attention, but is not aggressive about getting it.  If you're willing to cuddle or pat her, that's just fine with her!

We'd like to thank Chris and Terri-Lynn for fostering her in Wakefield until she can find a new home.

On May 27, 2014, we learned that Julia had decided that she'd like to be a permanent member of the family instead of a foster kitty.  She's now officially home to stay!  Thanks, Chris and Terri-Lynn!

Beans

Pierre

"Beans" came to us from Jacksonville on July 3, 2013, a stray who had come to a trailer park about three weeks previously.  People there thought his family might find him, but they eventually realized he needed help.  He was born about July 2, 2008.

Beans was already neutered and had been declawed.  He had numerous wounds on his body, including an eight-centimetre wound on his left thigh, several two-centimetre wounds on his head, a healing wound on the side of his right ear that caused part of his ear to fall off and a huge 15 by 20-centimetre wound on the left side of his head and neck.  Half the skin had fallen off and the other half soon did.  He was given pain medication and antibiotics to help treat his injuries.  Beans tested positive for FIV (please read below).

29 Aug 14

"Pierre" came from Woodstock on October 23, 2013.  He was dehydrated, his bladder was thickened and painful and he was not eating.  He had acute renal failure as a result of feline lower urinary tract infection.  He tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV**)  (please read below).

Pierre was treated at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for all his problems and recovered quickly.   He's a beautiful and loving long-haired boy who just wants some people of his own to be his family so he can love them.  He's quiet, attentive and loving.  You wouldn't even know he's around until he climbs on your lap for a bit of loving.  He was born about 2009.

On May 10, 2014, Beans and Pierre receive the best news possible.  A lady from Perth-Andover decided that they should come and live with her.   They have a great home with two new canine friends and they're ecstatic.  So are we!  Please write often, boys, your friends here at DunRoamin' will miss you terribly, but we are happy and grateful that you finally have the home you deserve and have been waiting for for so long!!

"Luckie" became a ward of DunRoamin' on February 28, 2014.  She had been found on the side of the road in Greenfield and she was in rough shape.  She was emaciated, extremely dehydrated and her temperature was only 35*C - it should be closer to 39*C.   Luckie's ears had old frost-bite injuries and her paws were swollen to twice their normal size.  She was in such bad shape she didn't even want to eat.  We don't want to think about the state she'd be in if she hadn't been found.

Luckie lost parts of her ears and a large part of her tail, but she did very well otherwise.  She's grateful to the people who found her and made sure she got the medical care she required.  It's been way too cold out there for such a little girl.  She was only about a year old, if that.  As of March 10, 2014, the swelling in her feet had gone down but the pads of her feet were starting to come off so she had pretty pink bandages on to keep them warm and clean.  She still had a ways to go, but with the care that she's getting at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, we're sure she'll be fine.

On March 17, 2014 Luckie underwent surgery to remove the toes from all four feet due to the intensive damage sustained from her ordeal of trying to survive in the cold.  Her vet was able to re-establish pads on her feet so she is able to walk with a degree of comfort.

On May 5, 2014, Luckie was adopted by the family that originally rescued her.  She's got it made from here on out - no more outdoor dangers for her, just warmth, food, love and compassion for the rest of her life.  She deserves it.  Especially the warmth.  And the food.  And the love.  She'll never experience anything bad ever again.   We are grateful to everyone who helped make this happen, as is she.

"Bubblegum" came to us on September 6, 2012 along with her five siblings from Oakland where they were found in a box on a doorstep.  They had terrible fleas, upper respiratory infection, were very thin and very hungry.

She and her siblings were fortunate to get a wonderful foster homes and quickly became very healthy, social and happy little beings.  Bubblegum was born about the middle of July, 2012.

Bubblegum was the last of her family to find a home.  She's very sweet and affectionate, quiet and appreciative of love, attention and friendship.

On April 26, 2014 Bubblegum got her wish and is now is the best friend of a young lady in Glassville.  Please send lots of pictures and tell us about your new life!

"Rae" came to us on the evening of February 12, 2014 from the Greenfield area where she had been found in the middle of a road a distance from any houses.  She obviously needed help.  She was taken to the Florenceville Vet Clinic where she was examined and the following was learned:  she was about five and a half months old, weighed only 2.2 pounds, she had ear mites., her ear tips had been frozen in the last few days and she had upper respiratory infection, but these were the very least of her problems.  It seems that she had probably climbed onto a vehicle engine to find warmth and as a result had sustained a traumatic amputation of her tail which has resulted in soft tissue injury all around her anus.  She probably fell out of the engine as the vehicle moved along the road.  This is an incredibly painful injury.  The remaining portion of her tail was about one inch long, had gravel embedded in it and she had lost a lot of blood.

Rae's injury was cleaned, the end of what remained of her tail was amputated and the skin was sutured to close the wound.  She had a long road in front of her, but she's done very well.  She's very loving, playful and affectionate.

On April 16, 2014, Rae was adopted by a young couple near Lakeville where she'll be the newest sibling of two other ex-DunRoamin' cats and she'll have canine and bearded dragon friends as well!  Please stay in touch.  We'll all miss your little butt!

"January" came to us on January 6, 2014 from Jacksonville where she had been one of several cats who were lived trapped to ensure they had food and shelter for the cold winter months.  She is a senior cat - at least 10 years of age.  She was hypothermic, severely dehydrated, missing several teeth, very thin, in shock, anemic and had evidence of kidney failure.

January was syringe fed, given intravenous fluids, antibiotics and kept toasty warm.  She was in very rough shape.  As of January 12, 2014, she had her eyes open, was able to eat a tiny bit on her own and even mustered up enough energy to hiss at a volunteer!  She was soon well enough to be spayed and had most of her teeth removed.   January is not a social cat.  She's been on her own in bad situations for too long to learn to trust humans in a short period of time.  Fortunately . . .

. . . on April 7, 2014, she officially became a member of a household in Connell where she'll integrate with their other pets.  She may never be a cuddle cat or even a social being, but she'll live in a warm house with lots of good food and company.  She's safe and cared for - what more could any of us ask?

"Burl" came to DunRoamin' on December 1, 2013. He had been found in the middle of the road in Crombie Settlement which is northwest of Plaster Rock.  He was emaciated, dehydrated, very weak, had fleas, an upper respiratory infection, his eyes and nostrils were crusted closed and he had numerous ulcers on his tongue.  He definitely needed help and would surely not have survived much longer on his own.

Fortunately, he was brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where his medical concerns were immediately addressed.  He got lots of medication and care to help him get better.  He was given a warm Snuggle Safe and some warm wet food and soon began to eat on his own.

Burl has come a very long way.  He's now very happy and playful.  He loves the feline friends he lives with and plays and sleeps happily with them.  His very best friend in the world is Flurry with whom he's been since he came.  They love each other dearly.  He was born about June 15, 2013.

On April 7, 2014 Burl met his new mother who has loved him from afar and followed his every step of progress.  He now lives in Fredericton with his new humans, cat and dog friends.  As you can see, his favourite appears to be Mason!

"Topanga" came to DunRoamin' via Woodstock on April 4, 2014 when she was found in a snowbank all alone.  No mother or sibling was evident, so she was on her own in cold and wet weather.  She was born about January 15, 2014, so she's just a baby.

Topanga had mild conjunctivitis (inflammation/redness of her eyes and eyelids) but was otherwise healthy.  She immediately received treatment for the conjunctivitis, vaccinations, FeLV and FIV testing and will be spayed.  She's very cute, playful, curious and affectionate.  She'd like to have a family to grow up with and is eagerly awaiting the people who want to make her their own.

On April 7, 2014 she met those people.  She'll now live in Jacksontown with a dog and one other cat, as well as her new human servants!  Congratulations, Topanga!

"Chirp" arrived at DunRoamin' on December 6, 2013 as one of more than 140 animals (including dogs, cats, birds, pot-bellied pigs, chinchillas and gerbils) seized by the SPCA in Fredericton on December 3, 2013.  DunRoamin' was one of several shelters and rescues asked to assist in helping some of the dozens of cats to regain their health and to find loving homes.  Chirp and four of her friends were picked up and transported by Dr Monteith of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic who chose the ones who required more intense medical attention.

Chirp was soon spayed.  She was about four years old and is a short-haired tabby.  She was emaciated, had an old scar on her left cornea, had moderate tartar on her teeth, ear mites. and was moderately dehydrated.  She was given fluids to help her re-hydrate.  She tested positive for FIV**.  She quickly won the heart of her favourite vet tech whose heart was also broken because she was so very, very, very skinny.  She's doing very well now and is a favourite of all the minions who serve her!

On April 6, 2014, she was chosen by a young couple to be a part of their family which includes three other cats, some mice and rats.  She'll live in Halifax where she'll live the live of luxury and be well loved for the rest of her life.  Please stay in touch, Chirp.  We'll miss you.  Tell your mother to let you visit often.

"Comeau" came to DunRoamin' on October 18, 2013 from Lower Brighton.  She was one of three kittens and three adults who were living under a home.  They occasionally were given food but were not cared for on a regular basis.  A young lady helped provide food to them and on this day noticed that young Comeau was squealing in pain and dragging her hind legs.  She asked for help for her as she already has several young kittens she's rescued at home and is going to help these others as well.

Comeau was examined at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and found to be fine except for being a little thin and having fleas.  However, she later experienced a neurological episode and was placed under medical care.  She carries her head to one side.  She's a loving, affectionate, playful little purrball who was grateful to be fostered by a vet tech to ensure she had the medical expertise required by her condition.

On April 6, 2014 it was decided that Comeau would stay where she was permanently.  She has a loving family that she does not want to leave, so she stays!  We're all very happy for her.  Congratulations!

"Vivica" came to us on January 31, 2014 from the Rockland area.  A lady had gone into hospital and was unable to care for her pets.  Someone who checked on her cats noticed that little Vivica was unable to walk.  She was born about the first of April, 2013.

Examination revealed that she was thin, had ear mites. and was very unsteady on her feet.  Her entire body was weak.  She's a very quiet, sweet little girl who enjoys the comfort of a human body next to her.  It appeared she had sustained some neurological trauma and had difficulty walking and balancing.

Vivica was soon diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition which causes jerky movements, tremors and generally unco-ordinated motion.  These normally increase when she's excited and decrease when she is calm.  She's perfectly healthy, happy and playful.   Her only shortcoming (if you want to call it that - we don't!!) is that her balance is off and she wobbles when she walks. That doesn't stop her from running, playing and exploring, though. She is a perfectly normal kitty in her own eyes and she's just fine. She just wants what every cat wants - a loving home.   Her condition will not deteriorate - it's just who she is.  She will require no medication or special treatment - just love and companionship.

On March 31, 2014, Vivica met her new family.  She will live with a young couple in Oromocto who has two young cats who will be her new brothers.   We can't wait to get letters from you, Vivica!  Let us know how wonderful your new life is!!

"Levon Helm," named after The Band's drummer who recently passed away, came to us from Woodstock on May 2, 2012, where he had been dropped off. He had large open wounds behind both ears about an inch and a half in diameter, his fur was matted with burdocks, he had several broken teeth, his eye was infected, and he was not neutered.  He was about two years old.

Levon is a nice boy. He was treated for his injuries and was neutered and had all the burdocks removed from his fur. He then commenced to eat everything in sight as if he were afraid when it was all gone, there'd be no more. He was initially a little timid, but he became much more confident once he realized that he had friends. He was content to eat and sleep as much as he could!  His eye improved greatly, and he's very happy to be patted. It seems he's quite a purrer! He was fostered by a friend in Bath until . . .

. . . March 28, 2014 when he was brought to the attention of a couple in Lakeville.  They currently have Bolt and Sterling, two ex-DunRoamin' cats, and they decided that Levon should come join them.  Thank you for giving him a great home!  His new name is Mycroft, and we love it!

"Wallowitz" arrived at DunRoamin' on December 6, 2013. Wallowitz and his four friends Chirp, Wazowski, Boulder and Eloise were picked up and transported by Dr Monteith of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic who chose the ones who required more intense medical attention.

Wallowitz is a buff/fawn-coloured male who was not yet neutered.  He is about two years old.  He was treated for ear mites, fleas and a mild eye discharge.  You can easily tell where he is from his loud buzz-saw purr.  We've never not heard it if there's a human around!  He loves people and other cats.

On March 24, 2014 Wallowitz went to a permanent home in Hartland.  We know you'll have a great time, so please send us photos and updates.  We'll miss your purr!

"Cameo" came back to DunRoamin' on October 11, 2013 from Hartland where she had been adopted in August, 2011 along with her friend Echo.  Cameo had originally come from Glassville on September 3, 2010 where she had been dropped off at a house along with her three siblings.  She was born about July 25, 2010.  She was returned to DunRoamin' when her family no longer wanted to care for her.

Cameo was a little more confident than Echo and dealt well with her new environment well.  She's very loving and affectionate and will sit on your lap all day if you'll let her.  She has the most gorgeous green eyes that you'll ever see and very, very soft fur.  She's beautiful.  On March 16, 2014 she went to visit with her friend Thor's family.

On March 23, 2014 we learned that Cameo would like to spend the rest of her life with Thor and her adoring new humans.  We're very happy for you, Cameo!  Please send a photo of you and Thor!  Congratulations!

"Wicca" came to DunRoamin' on October 31, 2013 from Waterville.  Numerous cats are routinely dropped off there to survive on their own and Wicca was one of the unfortunate.  She was born about May 1, 2013.

Wicca had ear mites., road rash on her face (perhaps another baby thrown from a moving vehicle) and was dehydrated.  Her cares were addressed and she's fine now.  She hopes her friends who were abandoned in Waterville may also receive such grace and be rescued.  She knows they're grateful to receive food, but they'd really like a family too.  She's very happy, bubbly, energetic, affectionate and lovable and she's hoping for her wish for a family to come true very soon.  She was fortunate to receive a foster home in Grand Falls and . . .

. . . on March 18, 2014 we learned that they wished her to become a permanent family member.  Wicca has the run of the home and makes good use of it!  Congratulations!!

"Kimball" was found on the Allison Road in Riverbank on July 2, 2012, no doubt dropped off there on the Canada Day weekend.  He was hungry, had fleas, worms, ear mites. and an infected eye.  He was not neutered.  He's very friendly and cuddly and he loves dogs.  Kimball was born about June 1, 2010.

Kimball is a very nice boy who loves all people and is happy to have food and fresh cold water. His medical needs were addressed and he was neutered.  He put on a pound or two quite quickly and was very fortunate to find a loving foster home near Woodstock.

On March 15, 2014, Kimball was chosen as a friend for two young boys and their feline friend Bumblebee.  Congratulations, Kimball!  Send us an e-mail soon.  Your foster family will miss you!

"Quiver" was dropped at DunRoamin' on February 24, 2014 by a woman from Carlow.  He had been hanging around her property for a month.  She stated that he had an injured right front leg, that she was not taking him back and that if we didn't take him he would be shot.

Quiver was examined by a veterinarian who determined that he was healthy and injury free, other than a few old minor bite wounds most probably obtained from fighting with other cats.  He was also exhausted.  He's about two years old.

On March 1, 2014, Quiver was chosen by a new DunRoamin' volunteer to be a foster kitty.

On March 12, 2014 we received this message:  "Quiver has decided that he has adopted us and as such has us convinced that we just can't let him leave!!!"  Way to go, Quiver - your dream has come true!  Soon Howland (aka Twitch) will be coming home and your family will be complete!  Thanks to your new mom and dad!

"Puff Kitty" came to us from Holmesville on January 29, 2014.  He was only about a year and a half old and was an intact male.   Puff Kitty's entire lower jaw was shattered and infected as a result of an unknown blunt trauma to his face.  He had no other injuries at all.  Since he was unable to eat or drink for as long as a week or more, he was emaciated and dehydrated.  He was also exhausted and his eyes were swollen and infected.

Puff Kitty underwent surgery on January 30, 2014 and as his lower jaw could not be repaired the damaged parts were removed, a procedure called a hemi-mandibulectomy.  This results in his face being pulled a bit to the right, but he copes well and eats normally now that the trauma and swelling are gone.  He lost the left side of his lower jaw, part of his upper jaw and several teeth as well.  Montana will tell him that he'll not even notice the difference once he's healed (see her story on our Adopted Cats 2011 page - she was adopted on October 14, 2011).  He deserves a home as loving and kind as Montana was able to get.

On February 2, 2014 several pellet fragments were removed from his body.  His injury was the intentional result of a human with a gun.

On March 8, 2014, Puff Kitty met a young couple from Fredericton who had been following his story since Day 1 and have wanted to give him a loving home.  We look forward to frequent updates on your new life, Puff!

"Chatterton" came to DunRoamin' on January 13, 2014 from the Centreville area where he had been found in a dooryard.  He was only about four months old, was underweight, severely dehydrated and his body temperature was only 33*C.  For cats, 37.5*C is low and a temperature less than 35*C is not normally consistent with life.  He would not have survived much longer without medical intervention.

Chatterton also had facial abrasions that were approximately five to seven days old, his right ear tip had an old frostbite injury and all four feet were raw, purple/black, blistered, ruptured and infected from the effects of frostbite to the degree that it was much too painful for him to stand.   These injuries were approximately three to five days old.  His pupils were asymmetrical indicating he had sustained head trauma.  He was very hungry, exceptionally thirsty and his gums were pale as a result of shock from hypothermia and starvation.

Chatter was put on antibiotics, pain medication and was kept warm and nourished.  He required intravenous fluids and repeat pain medication.  On January 25, 2013 part of his tail fell off, a result of his frostbite injury.  He likes dogs, is very loving and affectionate and shows his gratitude at every single opportunity.  He's particularly grateful to his friend who routinely donates in his honour, visits and brings him toys!  And he LOVES his green bed!

On March 6, 2014 he was adopted by a young woman from Avondale where he'll be a friend for another ex-DunRoamin' stray, Thai!  He will always have food, warmth and love, and he'll never be subjected to the trials he went through as a very young, tiny kitten.  We're all grateful.  Send photos, Chatter!

Wazowski" arrived at DunRoamin' on December 6, 2013. Wazowski and his four friends were picked up and transported by Dr Monteith of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic who chose the ones who required more intense medical attention.

Wazowski is an intact male flame-point Ragdoll who is approximately four years old.  He had runny eyes and nose, an extremely large amount of fleas and moderate tartar on his teeth.  His body condition was good.  His favourite vet tech described him as "beautiful" and we can see why.

Wazowski was on antibiotics and required a dental cleaning as well as a neuter.  With all the care and attention he's getting, he's well on his way to being the social boy he was meant to be.

On February 20, 2014 Wazowski was adopted by a couple in Jacksonville where he'll learn what a real family is like.  Congratulations!

In the mid-afternoon of June 9, 2013, a man driving a very nice car dropped off a cloth bag with two young kittens in it on the steps of the Florenceville Vet Clinic in Riverbank.  This action was caught on security cameras.  When staff happened by later, they found one kitten already out of the bag.  "Vice," the little black and white girl, had run back to be with her sister, "Versa," who couldn't get out of the bag.  They were timid, very hungry and grateful for the care they received.  They seem to really need to be together - have probably never been separated.

Vice (on the left) and Versa (on the right) were born about the first of April, 2013.  They were healthy - just unwanted.  On January 25, 2014 Vice was adopted by a young couple in Woodstock and Versa went along as a foster cat!  She hoped to become a permanent family member also!

On February 18, 2014 her wish came true.  She and Vice both live as permanent family members of a young couple and their toddler in Woodstock.  We're very grateful to their family and also to the person who helped with the adoption!

"Thor" came to DunRoamin' from Debec on August 10, 2013 as a result of being attacked and shaken by a dog.  He's about a year old, weighed 5.6 pounds and had already been neutered.  He was an unowned stray who had been hanging out in the area where people were plentiful and he was getting the love and attention that he craved.

Thor sustained a broken back as a result of the attack.  He remained in a small cage to ensure he was inactive for about eight weeks so his spine could heal perfectly, which it did!!  He's he's the sweetest, most purring-est cat you'll ever want to meet.  And he says he's the softest kitty at DunRoamin', too!  He loves other cats and kids.

On February 16, 2014, Thor was adopted by a young couple in Woodstock.  He's right where he should be.  Congratulations, Thor!  Please send us some family photos for the website and let us know how great your new home is!

"Godiva" came to us on the early afternoon of December 4, 2013 when a man brought a carrier of five cats to DunRoamin', insisting that we take them.  As we are a rescue as opposed to a shelter, several other options were presented to him as ways to find homes for his cats.  However, he dropped the carrier on the floor and ran from the building, abandoning all five cats.  They appeared to be about 10 months old, born about February 1, 2013.

Godiva, her three brothers and sister were spayed or neutered and vaccinated.  All tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.  Bottom line is, they're all beautiful cats and they all deserve a loving home and family.

On February 12, 2014, Godiva was chosen as a friend for another ex-DunRoamin' cat, Flora. They'll live together in Perth.

"Urban" and his brothers Upton and Uzi were left at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic on November 2, 2012.  They were found near a school in Woodstock and were brought to DunRoamin' to be assessed by vet staff at the Clinic as they were believed to be sick. They had only a few fleas which were treated and paid for by DunRoamin'. These kittens are healthy, happy, playful and very social.

Urban is the adventurer of the trio.  He loves to seek out trouble to keep himself entertained!  A leftover Christmas bow, a random piece of string or a cat toy - it makes no difference to him!  He loves to be held and likes older kids.  He loves to torment other cats and loves dogs so a household with company that matches his outgoing personality would be wonderful!

On February 8, 2014, Urban got the dream of a lifetime.  He'll now live with his brothers Upton and Uzi in Perth-Andover where he'll have the love of a wonderful human.  We hope you like having your photo taken, Urban!  Send lots of pictures to us!

"Friday" came to DunRoamin' in the late afternoon of March 22, 2013 from the Lower Kintore area.  She had been found in a ditch by a person who wanted her to be shot.  When they asked a man to shoot her, he declined and brought her for help.

Friday was born about March, 2004.  She was thin, dehydrated, weak, tired, cold and hungry.  There's no telling how long she'd been in such bad shape, but she was on her last legs and quite obviously her ninth life.  She's fortunate to have been found by a caring person.

She was nothing but skin and bone covered with fur and she needed to learn to eat again. Six months later she was perfectly healthy and happy.  She has double paws on the front and is very laid back and affectionate.  On January 8, 2014 she went to a home as a foster kitty and did such a great job that . . .

. . . on February 5, 2014 she was officially indoctrinated as a full-time permanent family member!  She lives in Woodstock with her new family who adores her.  She's come a very long way!  Write soon, and send pictures, Friday!!

"Accord" and his brother Acclaim came to us on the afternoon of June 29, 2013.  They had been found all alone when they had almost been run over by a lawn mower.  The day was wet, cold and rainy.  They were born about June 10, 2013 and had upper respiratory infection.

Sadly, Acclaim was unable to successfully battle the infection at such a young age and he left us on July 2.  His brother Accord did better. He's happy, energetic and loves people. He's getting lots of love and attention from his foster mother and he shows his unique personality and quirks daily.

On February 1, 2014 we learned that Accord won't be going anywhere.  He's much too unique to have any other family.  Nicknamed "Squigward," he'll be staying on as a permanent member of his family.

"Langley" came to us from Bath on November 26, 2013.  She was a stray who had come to a home asking for help.  She was cold, hungry and her fur was matted and full of burdocks.  Examination by her vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic determined that her ear tips had frozen and they soon fell off.  She also had minor fractures of her upper canine teeth and she had an extreme overabundance of fleas!  She's had a hard time, but that's all over now.

She's a lot happier now than when she first arrived - warm, safe, fed, cuddled . . . how could she not be??!   She lived with six other cats with whom she got along just fine.

On January 31, 2014 Langley met a young lady who fell in love with her and vice versa.  She'll live in Tilley with her new friend.  Congratulations, Langley.  Send pictures!!

"Flea" came to DunRoamin' on  November 17, 2013 from Elmwood.  She had a broken pelvis, was emaciated, matted, cold and had massive amounts of fleas and ear mites.  She was born about November, 2010.  She was examined immediately at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and treatment was begun.

Flea's medical concerns were addressed and she began to recuperate quickly.  She had to undergo undergo kennel rest to ensure her pelvis healed properly, but she's fine now.  She's a friendly, affectionate, quiet, long-haired tabby and she's already purring in gratitude to be warm, pain-free and fed.  She tested positive for Feline Leukemia, but she's fine.

On January 31, 2014 Flea met her new best friend.  He had seen her photo and fell in love.  When they met, it was love at first sight for her also, and she languished happily in his arms.  She looks forward to doing this for the rest of her life.  She now lives in Fredericton where she'll be a friend for their small dog.  Congratulations!!

"MacInnis" and her family came to us on March 28, 2013 from the Centreville area where they had been living since they were born about April 13, 2012.  Her family could no longer keep them due to medical and financial reasons and there was potential for them to be released to try to survive on their own, or they could be shot.  All were healthy but had not been spayed, neutered or vaccinated.  They are now.

They were beautiful, loving cats who were very quiet and affectionate.  All MacInnis's family had found homes and she was the last one.  She missed her family and wished she could be with them or at least be in a family situation again.

On January 26, 2014, MacInnis's wish came true.  She met a young couple from Meductic and won their hearts.  She'll now live with them as their only pet.  Congratulations, MacInnis.  Please write often and send us photos!

On the mid-afternoon of June 9, 2013, a man driving a very nice car dropped off a cloth bag with two young kittens in it on the steps of the Florenceville Vet Clinic in Riverbank.

Vice and Versa were born about the first of April, 2013.  They were healthy - just unwanted.  That someone would drop them off to be someone else's responsibility without a backward glance . . . well . . . we're just glad there are good people in the world.  So are Vice and Versa.

On January 25, 2014 Vice was adopted by a young couple in Woodstock and Versa went along as a foster cat!  It soon became apparent that both would be permanent members!  See Versa's story above!  She was adopted on February 18, 2014.

"Sir William Pearce Howland III" came to us from Waterville on November 24, 2013.  A lady exiting the Upper River Valley Hospital observed him walking and knew he needed help.

Howland was examined at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where he was diagnosed with a tibia/fibula fracture to his right hind leg.  He also had tapeworms and was mildly thin.  He was treated for tapeworms and will get all the food he needs!

Howland underwent surgery to repair his leg.  Right now he'd like not to be in a kennel, but until he's recuperated that's where he needs to stay.  He'd like a foster home or a permanent home when he's able to go.

On January 18, 2014, Howland was visited by a couple from Brookville who thought they recognized him.  Upon meeting him, they were certain!  He was happy to see his family and will go back home as soon as his leg is strong enough.  Congratulations!!

"Marvel" came to us on December 6, 2013 from Woodstock where she had been found as a stray.  She was born about the first of July, 2013 and has obviously been on her own for awhile.

She was found by some people who tried to feed her but realized she was having great difficulty in eating.  Upon examination at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic she was found to have a large ulcer in the back of her throat which impeded her ability to obtain proper nutrition.  She is on antibiotics, and if she heals as well as she cuddles and purrs, she'll be fine in no time!  Marvel healed extremely well and was eating up a storm in no time.

On January 18, 2014 she was adopted to a home in Florenceville where she'll be a sister for little Hotchner (see Adopted Cats 2013 page).  Congratulations, Marvel!

"Chip" came to DunRoamin' on June 29, 2012 from the Bath area where he had been seen as a stray for several weeks. A kind couple had been feeding him when they could. He recently displayed signs of injury, so he was caught and brought for help.

Chip was about three years old and had ear mites. and several wounds on his body, the worst of which was on the back of his right hind leg. He was not neutered and his wounds may have been the result of fighting with other toms over food or territory.

Chip's injuries were treated and he was neutered.  He quickly became very happy and healthy with the love of the people in his foster home in Jacksonville.

On January 15, 2014 Chip's dream came true when his foster mother made him a permanent family member.  He's in for good!!  Way to go, Chip!  Congratulations!

"Midge" came to DunRoamin' on the late afternoon of October 4, 2013.  She had been found all alone by a gentleman in Woodstock.

She was about ten days old and had crusty eyes which were quickly cleaned.  She loves other cats and kittens and loves to play.  She's also a cuddler, especially when she's tired.

On January 9, 2014 Midge was adopted by a very nice young lady who lives in Waterville.  Midge will be a new friend for Rosie, their three-year old cat.  Congratulations, Midge!  Please write often and send us a photo of you with your new family!

"Dorian" came to DunRoamin' on August 26, 2013 when he was dropped off at DunRoamin' by a person who said she'd foster him but didn't return.  He was born about May 1, 2013 and is a black and white sweetheart.  He had a small wound on his hind leg and had fleas but  was otherwise healthy.

Dorian is a little powerhouse of love and energy.  He's curious, loving, happy, energetic, affectionate - you'll fall in love immediately!!

On January 7, 2014, Dorian was adopted by a lady in Perth-Andover where he'll be kept company by his friend Tomali, another ex-DunRoamin' stray.  Congratulations, everyone! Please write often!

"Echo" came back to DunRoamin' on October 11, 2013 from Hartland where she had been adopted in August, 2011 along with her friend Cameo.  She had originally come from East Brighton when she was only three days old.  She and 10 other cats had been abandoned in a mini-home when the tenants left.  Echo was born September 4, 2010.  She was returned to DunRoamin' when her family no longer wanted to care for her.

Echo was initially a little scared and confused, but she quickly realized that she was safe and cared for.  She's affectionate and likes dogs.

On January 4, 2014, she and her friend Iggy (see below) were proud to be the first cats to find new homes in 2014.  She will live in Oromocto with her new family that includes a dog whom she loves!  What a great year this is going to be!  Congratulations!  Please send family photos!

This is "Iggy." She came to us on the afternoon of June 21, 2012 from Bedell where a lady visiting from South Carolina observed that she was in trouble. She attempted to help her for about a week, but Iggy would not allow herself to be caught. She noticed that she was limping and was finally able to catch her.

Iggy had been wearing a collar through which she had gotten her leg stuck.  The collar had worn right through her fur, skin and muscle and embedded itself in her body.   The metal buckle of the collar had twisted around so that it was lodged between her shoulder blades and it had rubbed so badly that it had removed the hair and flesh.  With her leg stuck in such a manner, she was obviously unable to hunt for enough food to sustain herself and she was extremely emaciated.  She also had fleas and ear mites. and her injuries were infected and infested with maggots.  It was too easy to see that she was in great pain.  She was born about October 15, 2011.  She's a quiet, kind and affectionate little girl.

Iggy's collar was immediately removed, her injuries were cleaned and she was given intravenous fluids, antibiotics and pain medication. She was also given plenty of food and water and it seems she never wants to stop eating and drinking.  She underwent surgery on June 22 to repair the damage caused by the collar.  She kneads when her caretakers talk to her, grateful for her new-found freedom from pain and hunger.   She waited patiently for a new family to come take her home, and although it was a long wait . . .

. . . it was certainly well worth it.  On January 4, 2014 she was adopted by a young couple in Oromocto along with her friend Echo (see above).  They'll live happily ever after with their canine friend Lexie whom they both love.  Congratulations to the whole family!
